A Busy Week-End 4 Us

Hi everyone........well today is Monday the 30th......where in the world did this month go????? Thought I would add a few pictures of our busy weekend....not too adventurous....but busy for a couple of 65 year olds.

KYLIE....KYLIE she is such a happy dog. Here she is asking me, "can we go for a walk?" I said, "maybe later, when it cools down". We got Kylie from the shelter in Oshkosh, I am not sure if Kylie picked us or we picked Kylie, either way it has worked out fine. Kylie is a mama's girl and sticks pretty close to me....but just like any little girl, does not always listen to mama. Kylie has alot of likes and dislikes. She mostly dislikes the mailman and any other man that comes to the front door until I tell her to "STOP" and then she backs off. Some man must have done her mean before she knew us cause it takes her awhile to like any man that come to the door.

Following are a few pictures of the weekend. We did have a surprise on Sunday.....a big storm came through around about 6:10pm. The rain came down pretty heavy and around 6:30 the power went off.....I become so lost without the power, gosh we sure do take the "power" for granted don't we??? The "Power" of the Holy Spirit is taken for granted too, for that matter!!!!
Flower box petunia's and flowers in front of house. Did some weeding and got rid of some flowers that look like weeds when growing but when they bloom, they are the cutest little blue bells that last a few weeks. When they begin to dry up....down they come. I have no fear that they will return next year, even during a hard winter. My daisies keep popping up in different places, I like them where ever they decide to show their pretty faces. Someday the front of the house will be all perennial flowers, right now I have to plant to fill in empty places.

Here is JP fertilizing with his new fertilizer cart. 39 years we have been married and this is his first little fertilizer cart. You can see how dry the grass is and only the weeds seem to grow. This picture was taken Saturday......Sunday afternoon it rained..........oh well, JP can fertilize again. Hopefully the weeds were served notice that they are not welcomed here.

JP added a little color with some of the red chips we had left over after I redid the patio and flowers next to the patio. I should take a picture of the patio. Looks really nice, but the squirrel seems to think that is his domain and has been making holes in the chips trying to find a place for his nuts.....darned squirrel. Anyways, the yellow and orange marigolds are trying very hard to survive this drought.....been watering them, but not as much as I should. They should have been a little bit larger by now. Well, there still are a few more months of growing weather yet. I really need to paint my porch again.....it's due, can you see the paint chipping? And the steps and porch need to be stained again. I keep threatening every year to do that, but the summer comes and goes and there sits the stairs and porch, still needing to be stained and painted. I procrastinate very well don't I?

Going to close this blog for the day........this blog is #260......wow that is hard to believe. It's been good therapy for me. Not really sure where or who reads my blogs, if anybody does for that matter. But, it has been fun to do. I have a few blogs that I like to visit on a daily basis.....they may not realize it, but they become a friend that I enjoy visiting and seeing what they are up to and do miss them when they take a few days away from their blogs.

I am hoping that my next blog will be a few cards that I have been working on. I had a big sale last week and was busy working on that special order. Would be nice to have a few more orders like that...will have to just wait and see and promote more.

You all have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh.
Cheers ~ Louise

Patiently Waiting...........for Jesus!

Waiting..........Waiting, watching and waiting. Don't you just love when you come home to see your dogs or cats waiting for you??? Like as if you have been gone for days and weeks.........but it was only for a few short hours. Gosh they are so happy to see you, they are just beside themselves because you have returned home!!! That's the way we are supposed to be as we wait for the return of Jesus.

I am looking forward to the return of Jesus, more each day. When things happen, and life gets tuff. When we get pushed around and tugged and pulled in every different direction, yeah, I look forward to the return of Jesus more each day.

Yesterday I went for a lovely boat ride on Lake Butte de More. Weather was beautiful, but changed every 5 minutes, cloudy, sunny, breezy, overcast, warm, then chilly, but never rained. There are some beautiful homes on the lake, would be nice to live on a lake, would be like a mini-vacation every day. So in the mean-time, a ride on the lake, in the pontoon is my mini-vacation. After the ride, we docked and went for lunch then made some cards. Each one of us brought a card with the fixings and showed the others how we made that card. I will have to take pictures of them and post them in my next blog.

Well, I am going to shut down this blog, my computer is acting up.....must be too hot. You all take care and take Jesus and keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh.
Cheers to that.....Louise

Sadness in Aurora

Sadness in Aurora.............what can a person say to heal a heart. Only God can fix that. IT'S HIS BUSINESS YOU KNOW. You might say, "well, if it is God's business to fix what happened in Aurora.....why did it even happen?????? Why did some live, and some die, why did some have plans to go, but at the last minute change plans???? And, that woman who was about to open the door to James Holms's apartment...."something told her not to open the door." And, WHY in the world did James Holms even do what he did????

I am not even sure why, some die at an early age, or some die at an old age. And, how one dies is a complete mystery to me. Why do some get killed, die of cancer, heart attacks, malfunctions of the body, freak accidents (like that boy who was swallowed up by sand), earthquakes, volcano's, wind storms, hurricanes, tornado's, heat, cold, and the list goes on.

So, why do some, die in their sleep, here today and gone tomorrow. Why do some kill themselves? (when the Bible says, "Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:13)???? So many questions, I know I am missing many more questions. You might even have alot of questions yourself.  There might be some who think they can answer your question......but if it is coming from a worldly perspective it is just a guess on their part.

But if by chance, you read the Bible, and Jesus IS your Lord and Savior. You'll know the answer to why James Holms did what he did............."SIN".........bottom line!!! His belief system was in Satan and he was doing the work of Satan. Satan wants that ALL men and women and children die without knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior. He hates mankind you know, and he hates you and me, whether we are saved or unsaved. Anyone created by God is a # 1 Target for Satan!!

I hope and pray that through this tragedy that many, many people will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior............He is the only way we can make it in the SIN-SICK World!!!

If you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, ASK HIM TODAY! Because you may never know what will happen tonight or tomorrow even.............it may never come for you. Many of those people that died in that Aurora movie theater thought they had a whole life to live. Unbeknownest to them, Satan comes to steal and to kill and to destroy (John 10:10) and devour our souls.

Jesus came, that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

When I asked Jesus into my life, all I prayed was, "Jesus I've made a mess of my life, please come into my heart and take over from here, make everything new again." Then, sit back and watch what God will do for you. Everything will look new, even the sky and clouds will be different, you'll even smile more. But take care, "Be sober, be vigilant: because your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8)
Start reading your Bible, beginning with the book of John and get to know who Jesus is. Find yourself a Bible believing church, not just any church, but a church where Jesus Christ and Him Crucified is preached. The best place for me has been at http://www.jsm.org/ Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. You can watch the Wednesday and Sunday services plus get preaching, teaching and wonderful music all week long, 24/7.

Going to close this blog for today, you take care and take Jesus and keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh. Cheers ~ Louise

♫♪♫ Monday, Monday ♫♪♫

Do you remember that song by the "Mama's and Papa's????? Monday, Monday, so good to me.....(must find the words for this blog)
Yeah, it was a little hard to wake up this morning. This cute kitty says it all, took this picture off  Facebook today.....just made me laugh!!!

Well it was a quiet and busy weekend. Went to a paper sale at PaperCuts and  an "Amuse" stamping party and open house at Betty's place. Made 2 make n' take cards at the paper sale and 3 make n' take cards at Betty's. All very good ideas to use for future cards. Spent a little bit of money but, is that not the idea?????????

After my field trip of sorts, JP and I went for a short date to the antique store and looked around at all the old things that I remember as a child and are now ANTIQUES.....oh if only I had known as a young kid, to start collecting, would have been rich or would I have been called a hoarder and pack-rat???? Who knows, maybe if I sold some of our old stuff, I could make a few bucks, but it is hard to part with some of my "stuff".

Didn't make anything special this week-end. We were just basically trying to keep cool.  Friday, was half a chicken in my Nu-Wave which keeps the kitchen cool and a stir-fry of vegies. Saturday, JP ate left overs, fruit bowl and pannais for supper. Sunday, BLT pannis, beans, left over stir-fry vegies, ceaser pasta salad and fruit. Simple, simple, simple.

Trying to figure out why I took so long to write a blog.....it's been a week since I last wrote, must have been on a "blog vacation" or something. Actually been playing on Pinterest alot lately.........sure can be addicting. Guess, I am vacationing there...........no I did not vacate, (that's where vacation comes from, when you vacate one place to go someplace else). Maybe I just got side-tracted. So listen, if you feel like it, go to http://www.pinterest.com/ and type in Louise Langefeld Gatti and check out my boards, you can see some of my favorite things, cards, crafts, water fountains, places to visit, diets, food and more food and lots of refreshing drinks!!!! Check it out, you will be glad you did.

Guess it is time to close, this computer is acting up. I threaten to take it into Office Depot for a cleaning but I just know they will say..........."oh you need a new Windows 8 computer" or just try to sell me an older computer just to get it off the floor to make room for the new ones. But then, we both need our eyes checked and it looks like another used car is in our future. Soooooo you all take care and keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh.
Cheers to you ~ Louise

Flowers from my Garden in this HOT Weather!!

My perennial daisies are still doing well. Took this picture yesterday and was surprised to see they did pretty well during those hot days last week. I watered once or twice, giving them a little drink during those hot days. Their roots must go deep, they are planted in a low spot in the garden, so maybe the ground is still damp from the spring rains. Whoooooo knows, they are still looking good!!!
My Easter Lilly, sweet isn't she?? Planted her a couple of years ago and she has been faithful every year since to show herself off in my garden. I do have another Easter lilly that needs to be planted, probably will plant it in the fall or maybe in August, that will give it a good start. We will be sure to see the lillies next year around this time.
Below are my "maranda's" Looks like a choir of flowers, doesn't it? We sure did not plan it this way. They sure are amazing all at different levels so they all get the sun.
I got these flowers a couple of years ago from a lady here in Appleton. She has a beautiful flower garden with so many flowers.....she happened to be digging up these "Marandas" their other name is "Bee Balm" as they attract alot of bees, butterflies and humming birds. Both of which I have not seen much of.  They are starting to spread now and probably is time to thin them down....hope they take over the weeds so the weeds don't grow as much.

Well, I am going to close this blog for today, I have some cards in the making, so I shall probably post those in the next few days. You all have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh.
Cheers to you this night ~ Louise

An Etsy Order and Keeping Kool!

Just got a special order from my Etsy store the other day. This should keep me cool in this scorching heat or at least thirsty....lol! The lady lives down in Florida and is giving a 1st birthday party for her daughter. The color theme is pink and yellow and lemonade and cupcakes. She wants 4 lemonade cards to put gift cards in for prizes. She wants the pink lemonade with a pale yellow border and I shall add a yellow straw with no "relax" on the lemon or a "1" if I have a decent stamp around and is not too small, but just right.

When I am finished with the cards I will take a picture and download them so I can show the finished product on this blog. I will probably make some extra cards to add to my Etsy store at a later date. already have a set of 6 cards in my store, I marked them down $2.50 per card ($15.00 + postage) After I am done here I am going downstairs where it is cool and start working on the cards again. Started last night and have some more work to do. I want to get them all ready for mailing so they can go out as soon as the lady pays for them and is cleared by paypal.  It has been quite a dry spell in my Etsy store, this will help boost my moral.

Are  you Keeping Kool?????? It has been pretty warm these last few days.....uge, I am not a warm bodied human....I like the 60's and 70's maybe even low 80's but not this 90's and 100's with high humidity.....no, no, no!!! To think this is only July........August is also a warm month!!!!
We have a window unit air-conditioner in the kitchen, the two bedroom doors are closed, so all the air-conditioner has to do is cool the kitchen, dinning room and front room if it can make it that far. So we have a fan on the floor in the dinning room pushing the cool into the front room. Shades are pulled and no lights on, so hopefully it is cooling off here. When I step outside and come back in, I can actually feel the difference..............so I guess it is working.
The above card with the stamp "Keep Kool" and the "lemon" was my first attempt at making my first stamps. It was kind of fun.....a little putsey, but fun.

Well I hope you are enjoying this "4th of July".........going to be lots of fireworks celebrating our "Independence" but in a way we are losing our Freedoms everyday.....The White House politicians are trying to take our freedoms away and trying to wipe away "In God we Trust" from our lives. I wonder how much more God will take before he says, "Enough is enough........Jesus go get my children" I guess, time will tell.

You all have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh. Cheers ~ Louise

Ah......Monday - Health and God's Healing

Yeppers, it is Monday. I found this cute little picture on facebook yesterday and just had to add it to my blog today.
It's been pretty warm these last couple of days, too warm for me, I like 60's and 70's, but that is me. Do  you wonder why it has been so warm? Guess the "Global Warmers" would say, "See, we told you so." But you know.....I think we are under judgement from God. He is very angry and when you hear of earthquakes that deffinently speaks of God's wrath (Psalm 18:7). He loves us very much, but He is angry, because we think "WE" can run things.....nope, we can't. We need God in our everyday lives, we just can't do without HIM, and that's for sure. Has HE got your attention yet???????????

I found a neat website a few days ago and it is FREE. It's a community of dieters called http://www.fatsecret.com/ you can journal, type in what you ate and it adds up your calories, see what other dieters are doing, go on forums, find recipes. An array of things to do. I am still looking around trying to get acculmated. I actually have lost some weight, it has been tough though, but finally am seeing a few pounds come off. "God did His part, now I must do mine."

What I mean by that previous comment is this: These last 6 months, my health has not been up to par as I have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes. I've asked God to help me lose weight many times (Psalm 18:6), but never realized it was the meds that might be the problem. Having to keep tabs of my Blood Sugars since December 13th, I've found it VERY difficult to diet. I have been on blood pressure meds for over 20 years. When the Doctor perscribed diabetes and colestral medication, suddenly my liver levels went up. So he first took me off the colestral medication. Blood test and no change. He then took me off ALL medication. Blood test and still no change. Had an Ultra sound and blood test. Finally, liver levels were normal, but they found a gall stone. Have not heard what they are going to do about that. But the Doctor wants me to lose weight. Finally, I my weight is coming off, a pound here and a pound there, I have been trying very hard.

I need to tell you, that when the Doctor took me off all medications, I was really frightened. Blood pressure medication for 20 years????? I thought for sure I was going to die, (the pharmasist told me I was a walking time-bomb, so I really needed to take that blood pressure medication). So naturally I was scared........did the Doctor REALLY know what he was talking about????? I sure did not know, but I did stop taking all meds, including vitamins...........who knows what was causing my liver levels to go up. Well, after about a month of no meds, I actually started feeling better and my blood sugars seemed to go down alittle.

My last blood test, last week, came back and my AC1 is 6.8 = controlled, so that is a good sign. Finally, my body is getting into a normal mode, could it be that God is healing my wretched body. I would like to believe that. So after a couple of months of this roller-coaster ride, things are leveling out......God did his part, now I must do mine......It is God's business to keep us healthy and whole. I am so glad I have God to lean upon. We sure can wrack up our bodies with bad living.

So this is all good news ~ that I am very happy to report on this warm day on July 2nd. Maybe I can truly celebrate Independence Day by saying "Yes, I am on my way to losing weight and feeling free and healthy, the way God meant me to feel!!!! Whole in HIM!!!!!

Have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh!!! Cheers - Louise

Left-overs from the Turkey Breast

Turkey soup cooking in the Duch Oven mmmmmm good!!! My soups are pretty easy and usually no recipe is followed. In the above picture you see the turkey breast cooking on high. I then turned down the heat. Added the vegies, (celery, onions, carrots, eggplant cut in cubes (usually whatever I have on hand). Removed the turkey breast and added noodles, simmering and letting the turkey breast cool down then deboned. Added the turkey to the soup and chicken boulion from Jacobs Meat Market. I let the soup simmer till ready to serve.
In this picture you see the turkey deboned and added to the turkey gravy and scooped onto buns. The left over potatoes were added to broccoli and sugar pea pods to make a stir-fry. Tomatoes were sliced for the added color. Goodness I can hardly wait for my tomatoes to start growing this season. This was a very good meal and I am looking forward to buying another turkey breast in the near future.

Going to close this session for my blog, as I have to get ready to take a trip to Shopko and get the husbands medications and maybe just shop around a bit. You all take care and keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh. Cheers ~ Louise

Beautiful Golden Brown Turkey

Cooking on the grill this weekend was truly one of those adventures of a life time and something I have never done before but will defiantly do again. Grilled this beautiful golden brown turkey on my $20 grill on Saturday and oh was it a delicious bird to say the least.

Started the coals about 4:30, following directions, moved the goals to both sides of the grill so I could fit a drip pan in the middle. Placed the turkey on the grill right directly over the drip pan and closed the lid for a half hour. Came back with the potatoes (red potatoes tossed with olive oil, fresh dill and seasoning in tin foil). Took a peek at the turkey and it hadn't burned, flipped it over on it's other side and place the potatoes in the grill.

Doing the turkey this way must have worked as a smoker cause the turkey was not sitting on the coals directly, but the heat was going up and working around the turkey from all sides. Later into the cooking process, I added two corns on the cob wrapped in tin foil that I rubbed a little butter on. Oh my gosh did that corn ever taste goooooood!!!!!

About 7:45 I took the turkey off the grill and brought it in the house to rest awhile. Finishing up the rest of the meal. Avocado salad, cinnamon toast, corn on the cob, dilled potatoes and the gravy that came with the turkey..................a lovely Thanksgiving dinner.......God is good, all the the time!!!!

Well, the turkey was very moist inside and it was done to perfection too!!! Sunday we had left overs, I took pictures of the turkey and what was left as I made soup and turkey sandwiches and the rest of the potatoes went into a stir fry with pea pods and broccoli. Pictures will come tomorrow as I need to download them into the computer yet.

Well, you all have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh! Cheers ~ Louise

Friday Fun Day!!!

Hahahahaha!!! Just found this little gem of a cute kitty on Facebook today. Kitties say it all in their funny little faces, don't they????? "Gives me foods or I bites you....roarrrrrrrrssss!!! Yous scared yet???"

I have decided that I WILL NOT call my Step-father of 50 years "Dad" and that is the end of that story....I don't believe "Pops" has that right and can demand me to call him "dad", because he is NOT my "dad". Sorry "Pops" you will always be "Pops" to me till you die. You have taken too much from me in those 50 years that do not justify me calling you "Dad" and you will Never take the place of my "Dad". So be it!!!!
I really don't think "POPS" would be asking me this if my mother were still alive, cause it was her idea for me to call "Pops" - "Pops"! Why oh why does there have to be these bumps in the road.....roarrrrsssss!!!

Went boating yesterday, oh it was a beautiful day and I enjoyed it very much. Alot of fresh air, made me very tired last night, that I took a nap for an hour or so before JP got home. Then I made him soup and sami's on the "George Forman" grill. Works well for a panani sandwich.

Took a bunch of pictures of our boating trip, will download the pictures today and get them on my blog in the next few days. I love my mini-vacations on Lake Butte de More and Lake Winnebago. We are not able to vacation anyplace (our car will not make it) sooooooo mini trips on the boat will do the trick for me.

Well, think I will close this blog for today. Want to work outside for a while today. Have some onion bulbs to plant and water the plants and lay some mulch down. It's a little cooler today, so it is doable.

You all have a great day and see ya in the next few days. Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Cheers ~ Louise

????Call Me Dad????

Things are supposed to look better the next day, because isn't God's mercies new every morning???? Well, at least the problem is not as big as it was the night before. Let me tell you about my dilemma and let me know what your thoughts are with a comment.
I called my "Step-father" last night to wish him a Happy Father's Day. Sent him a handmade card, which he had not received yet. He has been my step-father since 1962 and in this relationship I have "always" called him "POP's". My real father died in 1961 of a heart attack, I loved my father very much and probably grieved many years for my dad even after my mother and Pop's got married. Pop's was the exact opposite of my dad and was very controlling in so many ways, not really letting me do alot of things I wanted but telling me what they wanted me to do.
As my step-father talked, telling me what has been happening and that he may have an operation on Friday, but will find out today at 2pm if the Doctor was going to do it. So needless to say he was all consumed with that. And, he didn't know what he would do if the Doctor did not do the operation, casue he could not continue on the way things were....he wasen't going to committ suicide or anything, but he would do something!!! Geez, what did that mean???? At the end of our call he asked, "Can you do me a favor?" I said what? He then said, Can you just once, call me "dad"? Gosh, that through me for a loop and at that moment I said, "No, because, you are not my dad, you are POP's! You have Stacy to call you dad." (Stacy is a woman with two kids who lived next store for many years and who my mother and Pops took under their wings. Stacy took my place as their daughter I guess, only because she lived in Las Vegas and I lived here in WI)
Well, then Pops said, "I figured you would say that" well, if he figured I would say that, why did he ask??? There is just a part of me that cannot call Pops, dad. I could have called him "Pete" all these years, but no, I called him Pops. So what do you think? Was it even right that he ask that question of me or was I over reacting??? Just not sure what to do, or if I should do anything and just let it pass me by.

Well you all have a great day, and I shall keep looking up for my redemption draweth nigh, as does yours.
Cheers to you all that read this blog ~ Louise

My Hibiscus and Three Cards

Added the above card to my Etsy store yesterday. The price is $3 + postage. The card: red cardstock was run through the cuttlebug then cut and punched with a circle punch. The butterflies are punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The circle is stamped with a flower and "Just Saying Hello" Very simple, yet elegant.
This picture is my lovely $1.50 Hibiscus plant which I bought at Walmart a couple of years ago. She seems to like her environment. Coming in, in the Fall and sitting in the sunniest window in the house. She gets watered  twice a week and fertilized every couple of months. Her first winter with us she got a bad case of mites. This past winter was a little bit easier....no mites. Not sure what I had done different but what ever it was, it worked. She's a blooming constantly now and enjoys the nice summer days.
The above and below cards are both going in my Etsy store in the next few days. The above card will be $4 + postage. Because it is a larger card and it has alot of techniques using my cricuit and cuttlebug in a few steps. If you are interested in what I did, just email me and I can tell you.
Well, I hope you all are having a great day.....the weather here in Wisconsin is so beautiful. Bought some red petunias to plant outside and a few other plants need to be planted, I have 2 Lady's Mantle plants that need to find a place in the landscape....but I am not sure where. Need to look up in the computer what they look like, then maybe I will know where they go. Oh and those weeds need to be pulled.....they never stop growing.

Well, you all have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh.
Cheers to all ~ Louise

A Doggie Doodle Day

A Doggie Doodle Day?????? What's that??? I don't know, just the first thing that popped into my mind for a title....probably not a very catchy theme but works pretty good with this picture though. Cute puppy huh?

Well, it is going to be in the 80-90's the next few days, uge, kind'a warm for me, my ankles swell up in this heat and are very uncomfortable. That's why I like it in the 60's and 70's there is not so much humidity. Guess I could not live in the southern states.......tooooooo warm!!

JP had a filling fall out this week. We have no Dental Insurance so JP was able to go to Tri-County Community Dental and got two fillings filled, x-rays taken and a sharp tooth filled down all for $20 co-pay. Now that was a blessing in disguise!!!

This is going to be a short blog today.........JP wants to go guitar shopping, so I have to get ready to go. Did alot of work outside yesterday, so now I am recuperating from all that work. Moved my front porch furniture around and dusted and sweep the floor. Cut my peonies and roses down and fertilized. Planted my zucchini plants........not sure I will have zucchinis this year, but I will try. We need lots of bees to pollinate and the bees have been sparse the last couple of years cause I have had NO large harvest of zucchinis.

Well I need to go get ready for our little excursion today, so you all take care and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh.
Cheers to all - Louise

New Cards and Voting

Added this lovely "nautical seagulls" card to my Etsy store today. "Simply Enjoy it All" is stamped on the front and is priced it at $3.00 + postage. The card is stamped on the inside with a simple "Happy Birthday" with room enough to write something extra for the birthday peep.
This card will be added to my inventory in the next few days and then it is back to the drawing board for a few more new ideas and some inspiration. The outside of the card is stamped with "Happy Birthday" with the inside stamped with "Simply Enjoy it All". The card will be priced for $3.00 + postage.

Well, tomorrow is the BIG day....the election of either Governor Scott Walker, a Republican or Mayor Tom Barrett of Milwaukee, a Democrat. First of all I don't believe in this Re-call, it's costing us tax-payers more then it is all worth...........there, now you know who I am voting for. We are at a cross-roads for this state. We were on the verge of bankruptcy then Walker got voted in and turned things around.....now the Dems want him out!!! Does it make sense to you, it doesn't to me....personally I don't like being in debt and that is what the Liberal Dems want to keep this country in. Well, time will tell, by tomorrow at this time. May the right man for the job be either re-elected or elected and if that is the case.....we are doomed!!!!

Going to close this blog for today, need to get outside and do some yard work, till tomorrow, keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh.
Cheers today ~ Louise

A Sometimes Sweet Saturday ♥ ♥ ♥

Making this a short blog for today (I think). Depends on what pops into my mind and if I don't get frustrated with Blogspot by the time I am finished with my typing. Seems I have to type and not see what I am typing cause blogspot does not acknowledge immediately what I am typing.....get what I am saying? There seems to be a pause in the communication between my typing and the typing getting on this blog..oh well, so what else is new....nothing works and I mean NOTHING works!!!! My pet peeve for the day!!!!

My doggie is sick today, he's throwing up alot. Seems this happened once before and we came very close to having him put down. Then he snapped out of it. Kylie has been sick too. But she is younger and seems to be able to handle what ever it is. We found out the Pastor's dogs are throwing up also....is there something in the water? Sad to watch the dogs, they can't tell you what is wrong, you can only guess and hope you are right in doing what you are doing. Well, we will see how Hyko is on Monday, he did take his pills and have a little to eat, so that was a good sign, but then 3 hours later he threw it all up. (sigh)

Well, talking about health and all......I did get the results back on my blood test for hepatitis abc and d, everything was negative. In the ultra sound, the liver is normal but the gall bladder had a stone. Will have to google gall stones and see what is recommended.........maybe it will dissolve on it's own. God could do that in a flash!!!!

Another recommendation was that I am to lose some weight...........now that could be a challenge for me, although at this point, after being taken off all medication may have been a blessing in disguise, I don't have to fight the meds and what they are doing to this body. To date, I have tried to eliminate all sugar and sodium the best I can. BUT you know how much sugar and sodium is in the foods we eat....geez it is a losing battle there alone!!! Two lbs have come off since last week, my goal.....two pounds next week and every week till the end of June. WI (weigh in) will be June 30th....hows that????

So maybe my red bow will look good on me in a month.....hahahahaha!!!!

Next Tuesday the 5th is voting day for the re-call......I am hoping Scott Walker wins......He was rightfully voted in the 1st time and should stay in till the next election. At least give him a chance to do what he was elected to do. So far as I am concerned, he is doing just that.

Have not been doing much with my Etsy store lately, really need to get some cards in there. My lack of inspiration and motivation can be a problem at times, guess there is so much going on lately that I can't seem to focus. I will work on that this month and like losing a few pounds, will get a few new cards in my store. Hopefully!!!

Have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh.

Make Me Smile!!!

Well, it is time for a cat and dog picture. Found this little gem in "Funny Cat and Dog pictures with captions." I have a few other pictures up my sleeve so be sure to stop by again to see them, they will sure to make you smile for the day!!! We all need a smile once in a while, as this world is surely going down hill faster then an avelanch of snow, or a hurricane, or a tornado, or wild fires, or gossip that never comes back true!!! I think you got the picture.

Got the results back from the ultra-sound I had on Tuesday. My liver is normal, I do have a gall stone......but God.....can disolve that in no time. Doctors recommedation is for me to lose some weight. I am actually on the way, lost 3 lbs this week (probably water weight). Cut down on sugar and sodium intake has really made a difference. Also, white flour, pasta and rice. Just trying meat and vegies and fruit. Not such a bad thing actually, now is the time to do vegies and fruit being it is spring and summer. Would be awesome if I could manage a weight lose of 25 lbs by the end of summer.........I am sure I would feel much better.

After the Doctor took me off all medication, I have been feeling better, hopefully he won't put me back on meds. Not sure when I will see him again, hopefully not too soon. Well, I am going to close this blog for today, need to take a little nap, as I tend to fall asleep at this computer much too much lately. So you all have a great rest of the day and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. See ya next month!!!

We Honor the Men and Women Who Fought For Our Freedom!!

Yes, today is Memorial Day! A day to honor all those who fought for our freedom to live a life free from the Dictators that would take away our freedoms. Sad to say, that is happening right before our eyes. Men in Washington DC want to do just that, take away what the Founding Father's etched into history.....Freedom and Liberty..........God Bless America.
Here's a few pictures from the weekend. JP and I
enjoyed a day on the lake and our little "mini-vacation." Sitting on Sandi's porch looking over the lake. We didn't go on the pontoon boat as the water was pretty choppy with lots of wind. There were a few "adventerous people" out in their boats. We just relaxed on the porch, watching the boats and clouds pass by, eating chips and vegies. The kind of day I could get used to.

Here is a picture of the house across the way.....looks like they are having a cook out and enjoying the weekend too!!
Last but not least. I call this picture a "sea of petunia's" sweet huh......I bought some red ones and planted them along side the house in little white urns and in the front of the house on the porch. I also picked up a lavendar Geranium. when it starts growing and producing I shall take a picture of it and post it. Never saw a lavendar Geranium before........it almost took my breath away when I saw it. So stay tuned for my coming attraction.

I hope you all had a wonderful day, watching parades and cooking out. Have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh!!!

Silent Saturday............

Another great picture of how I am doing today..................hahahahaha!!!!!! Is my world upside down or am I right side up?????????? Not much going on today. Going to relax this weekend and maybe plant the rest of my flowers and pull a few weeds.

Updates on our physical beings. JP has been taking those antacids the cardiologist recommended. No change, he still gets the pain in his arm. I am still not understanding how antacids can effect arm pain the way he gets arm pain..........I hate being around him when he gets those pains. As for my problems, went for another blood test, Doctor wanted to run a test to see if I have hepatitis, but medicare does not cover that, so I am passing on that blood work for now, would cost me $202 and we are still looking at JP's bill of $1700 for his stress test that we have to pay (that we don't have). Tuesday I go to the Hospital for a Ultra sound on the liver because the liver levels are still high. I am not sure I am wanting to know what is wrong and if they find anything like cancer.........that totally scares me. And then, how much is this all going to cost and how much of it will we have to pay.............honestly, turning 65 is a real pain!!!!! These were supposed to be the golden years, seems more like the tarnished years instead.

A word to the wise..........if you are reading this and you are still young, quit all your bad habits and eat healthy and exercise cause when you get older, everything falls apart at the seams!!!

Well, time to close this blog, have to go get ready to go to Northside hardward to look at some flowers to buy. I need some red petunias for my white urns along side the house. So you all keep looking up and enjoy this weekend for your redemption drawth nigh.
Cheers to you ~ Louise

Some Words 4 Wednesday

I was going to make this a "Wordless Wednesday" day.........but decided, I have some words to say....lol!

Here's an update on our physical beings: JP's "Heart" doctor wants to try anti-acids for a month as he thinks the pain in his arm may be related to "acid reflux disorder". He said, "do you have any questions or concerns???" I said, "I do not understand how this pain in his arm can mean acid reflux, I don't see how the two go together????" Well, you would have thought I committed the most cardinal of cardinal sins by asking him that question, honestly, I just did not understand the concept!!! I was not questioning his integrity, I just did not see how the two went hand in hand. Gosh, did he get upset, JP said I pushed one of his buttons........well, I did not know, I was just asking a question, forgive me for asking anymore questions...........geez!!!!

Update on me..........the nurse called this morning, my liver levels are still high and the doctor wants to do some more lab work and ultra sound of the liver. So Friday more blood will be drawn and an ultra sound  next week the 29th at St.E's. AS FOR THE MEDICATIONS: blood pressure, diabetes meds and vitamins etc. I am feeling MUCH BETTER since not taking meds. My blood sugars have been "what I call normal" this past week, 129,129,136.134.133,130,125, and today was 138! For me that is great, the numbers are not bouncing around like they had been while on medications.

I had such a fear of going off the blood pressure meds, fearful that I would die on the spot!!! The pharmacist told me if I should ever stop taking the blood pressure pills that could be very dangerous, as I am like a "walking time bomb"!!! Then suddenly the doctor takes me off the blood pressure meds.........so what am I to think, for sure I will explode!!!! My neighbor told me that was a scare tactic the pharmacist used on me.....of course they want to make money!!!! Everyone is out to make money and they will use whatever they can to get what they want and if it means scaring the hell out of you......they will!!!! So much for updates!!!!!

"Dancing With The Stars"
On to more exciting things........Donald Driver won "Dancing with the Stars"!!!! How exciting is that!!! Oh yayyyy!!!! Be sure to watch Channel 2 - June 1st at 7pm, "Donald's Welcome Home Bash" in Green Bay, that will be fun to watch. Will be fun to watch Donald make his first touch-down and do his new dance at the goal line! Lambeau Field will roar with excitement!!!!! On the "Today Show" they said, "Donald Driver is really big in Green Bay Nation now he is big all across the Nation!!!! God Bless Donald Driver and the Green Bay Packers the Team to Beat in 2012-2013!!!!!!!

"American Idol"
"American Idol" Finals are tonight.............I am rooting for Phillip Phillips, even voted online........don't even know how many times I voted, could have been maybe 20-30 times. We'll see what happens. Thursday starts "So You Think You Can Dance"!! These are probably my favorite reality shows plus "Celebrity Apprentice" and "Biggest Loser".

Been doing some planting and getting things organized outside the house. Can't say much for the inside, it looks lived in, what can I say. Dishes are always in the sink, cause I am always cooking something. Last night it was vegie lasagna.......was very good too. Zucchini, onions, chili beans and red peppers. With lots of cheese and sauce so it would not dry out. That should last a couple of meals.

Well, I think I will close this blog down, have to go get ready and pick up JP's new medication for his "acid reflux" hopefully this will cause the arm not to pain him so much!!!

Have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh!!

Birthday and Blood Test

Happy, Happy Birthday!!! My husband's birthday was on the 17th.......65 year old!!! I made him a card something like the above card but with blue flowers and butterflies. I placed this above card in my Etsy store if you would like to take a peek at: http://www.cards4ubylouise.etsy.com/ I think if you read on to the next blog from the 14th, I talk about his Birthday celebration alittle. Below, is his birthday cake. Made rhubarb and strawberry dessert layered on angle food cake and whip cream and a luscious strawberry with the candle stuck in it. Making the strawberry/rhubarb dessert is really easy.

Here is the recipe:
4 cups of rhubarb (peeled and chopped)
2 cups of strawberries (cored and sliced)
1/4 sugar (optional
or
2 packets of sweetener
Mix together in a casserole with cover.
Bake 1 hour in 300 degrees. Cool and pour over angel food cake and cover with whip cream.

I like this dessert almost as well as just plain strawberries. Oh Yummy!!!
***********************************************************************
Well, tomorrow I go for my blood test to see if my liver levels are normal after not taking any medication for a week. Got prayer today at church. So I am just believing that "God's Got It"

Guess I will close here for now, need to get to bed, the morning comes early and my appointment is at 9:20am. You keep looking up and I will too!!! Remember your redemption draweth nigh.
Cheers to all ~ Louise
