Hi there everyone. Well, it sure has been awhile since I last posted on my blog. Three weeks, guess I could have gone longer, but even I was getting tired of that pie...it sure was good though and easy to make. I made another pie a week later, but only chocolate....was good, but much too runny. Guess I needed to cut down on the milk. Live and learn I guess.
Don't you just love this meme...definitely, a dog is man's best friend. As is God, our best friend too. To bad He is being chased out of Homes, Schools, Churches and Washington D.C. plus each State. Sad commentary. It's no wonder this Country is a MESS!!!!
I think this is a cute card below....I have not made this card as yet. Have to buy some balloons. Looks so simple but yet a fun card that the nieces and nephew's will have fun receiving. I shall have to check out this blog to see what other ideas she has....but this card caught my eye and had to save it with plans of making them some day.
Here are some pretty flowers for you....wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day. I have no special plans except possibly, I might pick up some strawberries and chocolate and try my hand at making "chocolate covered strawberries" Mmmmm sounds good!
Probably make a special dinner of steak and fries and maybe a cake too.
I have been spending a lot of time watching Hockey....I sure do like hockey, better then football. Football is soooo slowwww compared to hockey. The Blackhawks were not doing too good the beginning of this season. Then the coach was fired and the Hawks got a new coach who has been leading them to a much better season. They are actually looking at getting into the playoffs.....that sure would be great.
I used to go to the games back when I was a teenager. Pops had season tickets, so I went to all the home games. Back then there was only 6 teams. Now there are 31 teams, that is how big Hockey has gotten in the States and Canada.
I found a couple of threads on the Internet that I follow while watching the Hawks play. There is usually about 10 - 15 people chiming in, rooting for the Hawks or telling different players to get of the ice because they are worthless......they better read the above sign!!! But it is fun, keeping up with them, feels like I am at a hockey game. I do enjoy watching the other teams play too and do follow other teams, but the Hawks are my favorite. And my favorite player is Patrick Kane #88. Hopefully some day I can get a Patrick Kane jersey to wear while watching the Hawks play.
Don't you just love the above meme....."A list of sports better than Hockey" Ummmm, there are none!!! Hockey is the Best!!
Weather has been pretty cold with quite a few days below 0 with lots of snow. I sure will be glad when winter is over. I noticed on Facebook, someone posted that it is only 30 days and Day light Savings will be here....I like when the time changes, although I don't like having to change all the clocks in our house. We never did change the time in the car (mainly because we did not know how)...so we won't have to worry about that one.
We had to buy a new battery for the car last week....that was not in the budget....but at least we know the car will start. I have to buy a new printer. (Also not in the budget) Buying a color cartridge is $30 verses a new printer is $30. Weird! May as well get a new printer I say.
Well, time to close here, I am getting a little wordy and probably lost a few of you along the way. You all have a great night and keep looking up, better days are coming. Cheers ~ Louise

Snowmen?????
Hi there everyone.....well I just looked out the window and there is a small dusting of snow on the ground. Our first snowfall of the season. Maybe it will be a white Christmas after all.
I started this post about 3 weeks ago but never published it only because there was no snow.....so here we go, just a few snowmen to look at. Tis the season!!!
I thought this was a fun snowlady or man. I think I should find some more tires and make this guy. I never did make my frog this past summer, only because I was pretty sick with the hernia problem. Maybe next summer will be better.
Here is a cute card, forgot where I got the idea. I just ordered the embossing folder from Stampin'Up and I have lots of snowflake stamps. I think the snowman is made out of punches and that I can do easily. He sure is sweet looking.
I found this cute snowman last year and thought what a neat idea, making the tree out of a snowman. I used to have a fake white tree years ago and decorated it with red lights and ornaments, it sure was a pretty tree. I never would have thought of this idea. Really cute.
No....I know this is not a snowman.....but he sure is cute. We used to have a white doggie like this, (sniff) he died 3 years ago this month. Hyko was his name.....best dog in the world.
Hope your Christmas plans are going well and you are getting everything done. Don't forget to find some time to relax and put your feet up for a while. Watch a good movie or turn on the Hall Mark Channel and watch some Christmas movies. Well, you all have a great day and keep looking up, things will get better soon.
Cheers ~ Louise

New Fall Cards and Lasagna Soup
Hi everyone.....hope your Monday is going well so far. I just got done making batch #9 of the infamous Lasagna Soup. I got the recipe from Biz @ http://www.mybizzykitchen.com/ and Biz got the recipe from Suzie @ http://twodogsinthekitchen.wordpress.com/2012/08/10/lasagna-soup/ (where you will find the recipe) and Suzie got the recipe from Brenda @ www.afarmgirlsdabbles.com and she got it from www.kowalskismarkets.com (where you will find LOTS of recipes) The original recipe came from a Cookbook called "300 Sensational Soups". This soup is REALLY GOOD. My husband requested it again, I guess as long as the ingredients are in the house, it is something I can readily make for him. Ummm...if there are anymore links, I will add them as I find them......hopefully I got the chain correct in who got who from who.....lol!!! What ever the chain, try this Lasagna Soup....you will be glad you did.
So now, on to my card making. Here is a picture of Kylie...showing off a card her mommy made....she is very proud of being able to be a part of this picture....she's a good friend.
This picture shows a set of 12 note cards, the inside will be blank so you will be able to write your own message (by hand) and send it "snail mail" with a stamp on it...can you imagine using the post office still, who knows, hand written letters may be obsolete in the years to come?!?!?!!?
In this picture is 25 leaves from the card stock I picked up at a thrift store. There was about 200 20x26 sheets. I found out that it is like contact paper...huh...maybe I should line the inside of my drawers in the kitchen...that just might work. Anyways, you can use the leaves to stick on cards or do a little scrapbooking with the leaves. I have both the leaves and cards on my Etsy store....so far, no sales.
Well time to close this blog, have to get JP ready for work, packing his lunch and get myself dressed to work outside for a while....rake some leaves and bring in some of my managery of ceramic animals, frogs, turtles, rabbits and squirrels. So you all have a great day and keep looking up for you redemption draws more closer then we know........Cheers ~ Louise

My Friend Kylie and a Few Cards...............
![]() |
| Hi Everyone, how is your day going. We are dreaming of warm summer days on the front porch, peeking out and seeing flowers and butterflies.........yes many beautiful days to look forward to!!! I took this picture of Kylie last year and played with www.picmonkey.com really should go there and play some more.....but seems I find other things to occupy my time. |
| Here is one of my anchor cards I made a while back. Using my cricut........found the anchor on a site where it was free to take and as I was looking for anchors that was a pretty good deal for me. So I made a bunch of anchors in blue and red and in different sizes and just went about making lots of cards. I will be putting one of these two cards in my Etsy store....been a while since I listed a card on Etsy, must be more diligent at listing if I want to sell a few cards. Either my cards are no longer appealing or the economy is bad cause none have sold for a long time. Oh well, guess I will donate them to hospice so I can just keep making them. Always nice to have a card for every occasion and not have to go out and buy cards. Have you seen the price of a card lately? Yikes!! Enough to choke a chicken!!! |
| This is my second anchor card in blue. The tape at the top and bottom is "washi tape" which I love working with. I did pick up some 12 X 12 paper like the tape, so will have to sit down and play, see what I come up with. I have some wolf and elephant cards in the making.......will take pictures of them and add them to this blog in the next few days and then list them on Etsy. Haven't been downstairs to make cards in a few days....was spring cleaning my bedroom last night, whew, do things get dirty and dusty and moved the bed around, TV and sewing machine....makes things look a little different, almost like a new room. I heard a long time ago, that when a person moves their furniture around that they are longing for a vacation.....yep, that sure is true....JP and I have not been on a vacation since 2005, went down to Indiana for a conference.....would be nice to take a road trip again to someplace we have never been. I hear Hawaii calling my name.............someday!!! Well time to close, have to go get ready and run an errand, you all take care and keep looking up for your redemption draws nigh! Cheers ~ Louise |

Just Some Pictures.............
| Hi everyone.......thought I would add some pictures to this blog today. My last entry was March 31st.....guess I have not done anything to merit a blog lately, so I will just add these pictures. The above picture was taken at Sandi's house looking out her front window to the right towards the City bridge. Pretty soon the river will be busy with boats passing by and then it will feel like SPRING has sprung!!! Sandi's craft room faces the river and is always sunny (when the sun is shinning of coarse). I am afraid if I had a craft room facing the river, I would be looking out the window at the river all day and not get anything done, craft wise. Hahahaha......... |
| This is a picture of a blooming Christmas Cactus????? I thought they bloomed at Christmas time???? This is April now and.....LOOOKIE....they are blooming. Guess they are a bit confused too. JP got these plants from a lady a couple of years a go. They usually were predictable but now they seem to bloom when they want to and not when they are supposed to bloom. |
![]() |
| Here we have Kylie. I was playing around with picmonkey.com and this is what I came up with. Should really go back there and do some more playing and make a new banner for my Etsy store, maybe a change in the "window" would help change things up. Nothing much happening here.....JP and I have date plans to go to an "antique show" on the 13th and possibly the following week I will be going to the "Milwaukee Expo" for the stamping and scrap booking show, if all goes well. There is a lot of things going on this month.....Paper Sale, Lucky Dogz Sale, Cooking Show........but can't go to everything, and everything does cost lots of "Moola Money"!!!! So I will forgo the last 3 and do the first 2, golly and this is just the first 3 Saturdays of April!!! SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!!! YAY!!!!! Time to close here.....told ya' not much going on, and that is fine, don't want too much excitement!!! So you all have a great day and keep looking up for your redemption draws nigh. Cheers ~ Louise |

Funny Picture Saturday and Snow Blowers
![]() |
| Found this funny picture the other day on the internet. Poor puppy dog, hope he didn't get into too much trouble with his owners that day. We had a dog named Alvin who pulled the instillation out of the walls......gosh did we get upset with him. Hyko had the garbage thrown all over the kitchen and then they look up at you with their big brown eyes and say like.........."I don't know, who did that, must have happened all by itself...." |
We found a snow blower in Menasha. JP wanted an Ariens electric start. There was a second hand one for sale for $250. They took a trade-in for our old one with delivery ($40) which brought the total to $210 and that was including taxes!!!! JP was going to give the old snow blower to a man at church for free.........I said, "NO, see if you can get a trade-in and get something for it"........yay, he actually listened to me and we did get something off for the blower. Well, hope this one lasts a couple of years and will be easier to start for JP. It won't be delivered till Tuesday, so after that, it can snow.
Well, time to cut this short, have a few things to do. Just love Saturdays and they just don't seem to last long at all. So you all take care and keep looking up for your redemption draws nigh. Cheers ~ Louise

A Funny Picture Today
HaHaHaHa..........I needed a fun picture today and found this in my stored-up pictures saved on the "stick". Sooooo today is MONDAY!!!!! What have you got planed for today and for the rest of this week???? Fifteen days till Christmas and I still have lots to do.
Made some peppermint cookies last week and some cut out ginger and butter cookies yesterday. Today I need to decorate them. Will be putting a little box together for the step-father out in Las Vegas along with a stuffed doggie. Picked him up for $3 at the thrift store. Pops usually complains. "Don't send me money, don't send me crossword puzzles, don't send me candy".................maybe someday I will not send him anything, see how he likes that. Sometimes situations like this, can take the joy of giving out of Christmas.
Still have some cards to make and a few gifts to make. Still have JP's gift to make, his race car scrapbook. Hopefully I can get a few pages done, so he gets the idea of what it will look like, wrap it up and put it under our little tree.
We have been invited out for Christmas dinner, so that will be nice, don't have to cook Christmas day. The pastor and his wife treated JP and I to my birthday (Nov. 21st) dinner yesterday, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and carrots. There was enough for take-home and another meal, so I didn't have to cook yesterday either. AAHHH those little bonuses in life, aren't they grand?
Well, there is no sense stressing over Christmas, it is not worth it, if things get done, they get done, if not, there really is no one to impress, I still have our little tree to decorate and put up my Christmas village. So I guess in the next 15 days will be busy. Then comes January and TAXES!!! Uge, that is when I shall stress!!!! You all enjoy Christmas and have a great time but still keep looking up for your redemption draws nigh. Cheers ~ Louise

R.I.P. Dear Hyko ♥
| Hyko standing on the word of God. |
| Fall time in the backyard. |
| Enjoying a summer day on the front porch. |
| Hyko and Kylie looking pretty, they both had their grooming session so they looked especially nice for the camera. |
| So Hyko, I will miss you very much, you were a great little dog, a bolognese from Bolognia, Italy, a purebread, your papers said. We got you from the Animal Shelter in Appleton back in 2005. You seemed so lost and looking for your previous owner. We found out you were abused and not taken care of, your hair was all matted and you had to be completely shaved down.....you looked so funny. You had your own personality, a tough macho dog and nobody, or no other dog better cross your path and you were not afraid of big dogs either cause you gave them a piece of your mind. Not much of a snuggler but you had your ways of letting us know what you wanted. You sneezed so much, Kylie started copying you....and we would say "God Bless You Hyko" You know what.....I think God did bless you and now you are running around in "Doggie Heaven........where ever that might be. Missing you very much and looking for you in this house and all the places you slept, in the bedroom on the old quilt, on your pillow, on the couch, the lazyboy, on my trampoline. Now you will be sleeping in the backyard, forever along with Truffles, Poppy and Anna. Sleep well my little friend, see you again someday. |

Off Line for a Few Days
![]() |
| Yep..........that's what I look like when this computer is not working properly, it is driving me NUT-SO!!!! I am taking this computer to Office Depot today, I have literly had it!!!! Not sure what I will be doing without not having a computer in the house, shucks, maybe I will get some stuff done around the house. This is going to be quite the sacrifice, but I guess it has to be done for my sanity. Don't want to be looking like that poor puppy dog above. If I take the computer in today, might get it back tomorrow so that won't be too bad of wait. Well, I do have some money to put towards whatever it might need and if they try to talk me into another computer.......we will see. Well, I guess I shall close here, time to get ready to face the music. Talk to you later and you'se all take care and keep looking up for your redemption draws nigh!!! Cheers, cheers, cheers, ~ Louise |

A Doggie Doodle Day
A Doggie Doodle Day?????? What's that??? I don't know, just the first thing that popped into my mind for a title....probably not a very catchy theme but works pretty good with this picture though. Cute puppy huh?
Well, it is going to be in the 80-90's the next few days, uge, kind'a warm for me, my ankles swell up in this heat and are very uncomfortable. That's why I like it in the 60's and 70's there is not so much humidity. Guess I could not live in the southern states.......tooooooo warm!!
JP had a filling fall out this week. We have no Dental Insurance so JP was able to go to Tri-County Community Dental and got two fillings filled, x-rays taken and a sharp tooth filled down all for $20 co-pay. Now that was a blessing in disguise!!!
This is going to be a short blog today.........JP wants to go guitar shopping, so I have to get ready to go. Did alot of work outside yesterday, so now I am recuperating from all that work. Moved my front porch furniture around and dusted and sweep the floor. Cut my peonies and roses down and fertilized. Planted my zucchini plants........not sure I will have zucchinis this year, but I will try. We need lots of bees to pollinate and the bees have been sparse the last couple of years cause I have had NO large harvest of zucchinis.
Well I need to go get ready for our little excursion today, so you all take care and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh.
Cheers to all - Louise

Make Me Smile!!!
Well, it is time for a cat and dog picture. Found this little gem in "Funny Cat and Dog pictures with captions." I have a few other pictures up my sleeve so be sure to stop by again to see them, they will sure to make you smile for the day!!! We all need a smile once in a while, as this world is surely going down hill faster then an avelanch of snow, or a hurricane, or a tornado, or wild fires, or gossip that never comes back true!!! I think you got the picture.
Got the results back from the ultra-sound I had on Tuesday. My liver is normal, I do have a gall stone......but God.....can disolve that in no time. Doctors recommedation is for me to lose some weight. I am actually on the way, lost 3 lbs this week (probably water weight). Cut down on sugar and sodium intake has really made a difference. Also, white flour, pasta and rice. Just trying meat and vegies and fruit. Not such a bad thing actually, now is the time to do vegies and fruit being it is spring and summer. Would be awesome if I could manage a weight lose of 25 lbs by the end of summer.........I am sure I would feel much better.
After the Doctor took me off all medication, I have been feeling better, hopefully he won't put me back on meds. Not sure when I will see him again, hopefully not too soon. Well, I am going to close this blog for today, need to take a little nap, as I tend to fall asleep at this computer much too much lately. So you all have a great rest of the day and keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. See ya next month!!!
Cheers ~ Louise

It's a "Funny Picture" Day!!!!
Was looking through some funny pictures of dogs and cats last night. Trying to find a laugh or two. Although I am not much of a cat lover, I thought this was quite funny. How in the world did they get that cat to pose like that? Is he running.......I don't know, but it sure brought a chuckle to my spirit!!!!
I think I might have mentioned in a previous post that my liver levels were high. Well, today the nurse called to say that the doctor wants me to stop ALL medication for a week and have more blood drawn next Monday. ???????? Gosh, I am a little scared, cause that includes blood pressure meds also. Guess this is where I must depend on God to see me through???? Diabetes can sure rack havoc in one's body, can't it. The Doctor took me off cholesterol meds when he saw the liver count up, well now the count is still up and now I must stop with the diabetes and blood pressure meds. Vitamins also! That does not scare me as much, but the blood pressure meds, gosh, I have been taking that for 20 some years!!!! Now, to just all of a sudden STOP taking it????? Will I blow up like our friendly cat in the above picture???? I hate being a guinea pig!!!!
Well, I will let you all know what transpires this week, if I am still among the living by next week's blood test. But if not, there will not be an update. Gosh, this blog sounds alittle dreary. But then, that is where I am right now. Almost afraid to put anything in my mouth, for fear my liver cannot handle it. I know, I know, you are saying, "lay off the booze!!!" Surprise, I don't drink, soooooo it must be something else, maybe this old body is just getting fatigued and worn out. Oh well, time will tell!!!
I left a message with the nurse to call me back. Just dawned on me in 1986 I had a bleeding ulcer and was operated on, the spleen was accidentally touched and began to bleed, so it was taken out. I guess the spleen filters alot of bad stuff. When it is gone then the liver takes over. maybe the liver has been overloaded and needs a rest from all the work it has done............hummmmmm wonder. The liver can restore itself, I heard, is that why we only have one liver???? Maybe I will have to google that one and get back with you.
Well, I think I will close this blog for today........see you in few days 'Lord willing' and remember look up for your redemption draweth nigh!!!
Cheers to you ~ Louise
