Last Day of November

Hi there everyone. Finally getting to my blog.....can you believe today is the last day of November??? I love this picture below.....reminds me of my dog Hyko, he will be gone 5 years on the 5th of how the time flies.
So tomorrow is Hospice day....we will be meeting at Perkins for breakfast....yum, I can hardly wait. I have all my cards done, maybe after I finish this post, I will go downstairs and add a few more cards to the collection.

Went to the eye doctor today for my yearly diabetic eye exam. There was no evidence of diabetic retinopathy. I did have a retinal hole in the right eye....and had focal laser performed in the office. Gosh, after dilation of my pupils got really big....and everything was SO bright!!! So I napped most of the day so I could keep my eyes closed.....too, too, bright!!!

We had a nice Thanksgiving. I made ham, mashed potatoes, bean casserole, dressing, gravy, biscuits oh and pumpkin pie with whipped cream....yum. I brought a dinner over to a friends house and sat with her for a couple of hours. She had been in a nursing home for 2 1/2 months for knee surgery with complications. She did not know what she was going to do about Thanksgiving, so I offered to bring her dinner. We had plenty.

I've been putting up Christmas ornaments....little by little. Maybe Saturday I will get the rest up. I still have not put leaves in my rose bushes to keep them warm for the winter, maybe Saturday will be a good day to do that.

Well, this is sort of a boring post, but I wanted to get one more in before December 1st and let you know I am alive and still kicking. You all have a great evening and keep looking up....better days are coming.
Cheers ~ Louise

Cards Made Today!!!

Hi there everyone, how did your day go for you today? My day was fine. Always fine, when I know I am going to be making cards at Betty's. She comes up with such great ideas. Today's cards were all Christmas cards.
The card very pretty. We placed a cut out circle on the card stock, then sponged around the circle with blue and violet ink. The trees are from Stampin'up.  We then dotted the picture with glue for snow, then sprinkled with glitter. The deer's were die-cuts...guess I shall have to fine out where they are from, cause I don't have any deer's in my stash to duplicate this card.
This was a neat card, it folds and does fit in an A2 envelope for mailing. The snowman is colored with copic markers. Cute card. I also like the sparkly back ground of the material I brought to take these pictures with. If I take the pictures right after they are doubt I will get them on my blog quicker.
This was an easy card to put together. You can see that the blue background is a little village. The white are the snowflakes. Then the 3 lights on a post and cats roaming the street.
This card was done with water color pencils, I got the back ground too yellow, should have been a lighter yellow, then it would have looked better. Maybe if I could have done another card, could have done better. Oh well, live and learn.

I stopped off at GFS to do a bit of shopping. Picked up some olives, JP's chocolate donuts, some ham, instant mash potatoes, nachos and a pretty copper plastic plate for Christmas cookies or a picky plate of cheese, salami, deviled eggs and olive plate. Still thinking on that plate for next months card making session and Christmas snacks at Betty's.

I will be home for the next 4 days......not going no where!!! Hopefully the furnace man will come and fix our furnace and tune it up. We also have 3 gas leaks that were temporarily fixed by Wisconsin Electric when the new gas meter was replaced. I guess they do that every 5-10 years.

I still have some tomatoes to can, they have been sitting in the yeah, that is on the agenda for tomorrow or Friday. I suppose I could find some other things to do....maybe I should just get lost downstairs and make some cards for Christmas, now that I am in the mood.

Time to close this post, need to go do some dishes before JP comes home. Dinner is cooked, pork steak, potato, fruit and rhubarb pie. So you all have a great evening and keep looking up, better days are coming. Cheers ~ Louise

Some More Cards from the Revealing Party - Part 2

Hi there everyone. Well, it's almost the end of the week and guess what......Saturday is a coming!!! Yep, we like the weekends....a break from the busy week. Nothing much has gone on this week although I did have a run-in with the Telephone/Internet Co. today.

(Note: I wrote this on 11/9, so this is OLD news) They sent me this months new bill and apparently they did not receive my payment for October. I paid it at the Citgo Service Station. Where did that money go to???? Well, I talked to some lady in India and got no where. Plus she put me on hold so many times and I heard Indian music, at least I thought it was Indian music.....then my phone battery started to beep and I hung up.

Then I tried the "Chat" with the Telephone Co. over the Internet and seemed to have gotten no where. Then he had me talk to another man from India....gosh those people are hard to understand.

FINALLY I got a nice lady (that I could understand) apparently I was talking to someone in Payment claims. So I had to send the receipt from the gas station showing I paid the bill in October....I scanned it, made a cover page, then emailed the receipt to the Telephone Co. My Telephone bill went from $165.57 down to $87.40. Thank God.....I was so stressed out. I told the lady this is not how I expected to spend my Thursday afternoon. But at least the problem is remedied. I will NOT go back to that station again to pay ANY not in a million years!!!
A continuation of the card exchange from Oct. 29th. I am just a little bit gets so busy that blogging gets put on the back burner sometimes. So anyways the above picture of the cards, I sent the "watermelon slices" and made the card on the right and Janine made the card on the left. I rather like her funny!
God Bless America.....she sent the "stars and strips. My card on the right, Janine's on the left.
Janine sent the "scarecrow and corn stalk" My card is on the right, hers on the left.
Janine sent the "Fall Background" her card is on the left, mine is on the right.
I sent the leaves and it looks like we both used the Fall background. Janine's card is on the left and mine is on the right.
Last but not least, Janine sent the "Lip stick, mirror and perfume images" My card is on the right and her creative card is on the left.

Well that is it for the Revealing Party Cards. We just started the 4th session and I got my new name. I have to send my images out for November. I stamped 14 turkeys, will mail her 12 and keep 2 and make cards out of them. I have done that already....maybe I will take a picture of it and use it for my Thanksgiving header in a few days.

So tomorrow is my day to visit Betty's and make some more cards. Can hardly wait to see what she has come up with.

I had a dentist appointment today to have my teeth cleaned. I still have a couple of cavities....the dentist is watching them, that they don't get bigger. We have to take care of JP's mouth, he has 6 cavities that need tending too. The dentist said he would give us  50% on the cost of the cavity filling....which would be $735....or the other option would be to go to the Tech and have them taken care of for FREE with the Dentist overseeing the procedure. JP is still thinking about what he wants to do. I sure do hope he goes the "Free" way!!!!

Well, time to close and get this posted. You all have a good evening and a great Wednesday. Keep looking up....better days are coming.
Cheers ~ Louise

Revealed Cards from the Party Last Week Part 1

Hi there everyone. Well, here we are, one week into November already. I shall be 71 years old this month....yikes!!! My mind still thinks young but I give myself sooooo much to do, problem is my body is having a hard time keeping up with all the things my mind wants to do. Okay....maybe someday I will figure this out. My mother never told me old age would be tuff.....she always said, "Everything is calm and quiet." I am still waiting for those calm and quiet days!!!!

As promised in my previous post, these are the cards from the revealing party a week ago already. We are starting a new session, but I have yet to receive the name of my new partner in crime.....I already know what images I will be sending for the next 6 months, so it will be fun to see what the new friends images will be.

So in this froggy picture, I did the card on the right and Janine did the card on the left. Ribbit....ribbit...ribbit!!! Janine sent the frog images, so I have 10 more frogs in my image!

Janine sent the images of the Master Gardener, garden tools and seeds. Her card in on the left and my card on the right.
I sent Janine 12 bird images. Her card is on the left and my card on the right. I actually like Janine's cute!!!
I sent the Dragonfly images, my card is on the right and Janine's is on the left.
I love this blue glad he is in my possession. I sent Janine 12 images of this lovely bird.  My card is on the right and Janine's card is on the left.
In the card below, I sent Janine 12 images of the rose and pineapple. My card is on the right and Janine's card on the left. As you can see she cut three roses, very pretty.
I have some more cards from the revealing party to share with you....that will be in my next post.

Not much happening the rest of the this week. We are still raking leaves and getting the yard ready for winter. So much to do and winter is right around the corner. You all have a great night and keep looking up, better days are coming. Cheers ~ Louise
