June....How Fast Will It Go????

Hi there everyone. How you all doing?? My goodness it was warm today...in the 90's for the next couple of days. I don't do very well with 90 degree weather. If the weather could just stay in the 70's, I would be a happy camper. Guess there is no perfect place to live....except for Heaven, then it won't matter what the weather will be like, because we will be so concentrated on Jesus!!!!
Some flowers from my garden, above are my Allium's. I should get some more of these guys. I sure do like them. Below are my pretty pink/white tulips. As they begin to open, they almost look like roses. So pretty!!!
Below is a picture of a picnic bench at Erb Park. I have found my quiet place. I get 11 hours a week now to get away for "respite time". A caregiver comes to the house, giving me time away from taking care of JP. They will wash my dishes, floor, vacuum, give JP a shower and wash his hair. Fold towels, which there are many, cause I seem to be washing towels constantly. The towels end up on the bathroom floor a lot, because of JP's incontinence. They also will take him on the front porch for fresh air, just kind of filling in for me.
I had a different lady yesterday. I was told she was a "powerhouse" and that she was, she did things I didn't even ask her to do, I was amazed. Probably out of the 3 caregivers.....she is the best. We are getting a new one this Monday. So that will be 4 ladies.

So, when I go to the park, I take a note book and pen, Bible, a Billy Graham devotional, and write away. I have stopped at Jacobs Meat Market for a hot lunch or Kwik Trip for 2 pieces of chicken/chips and and cold drink. Even though there are lots of people there, it is still very peaceful. God knows I need some peace.

I can only spend 1 hour there or less, cause then I need to rush to the store and get back by 4pm, so the caregiver could leave on her shift. This Monday and Wednesday I will get 8 hours and 3 hours on Thursday. I guess I got a raise in hours....lol! From 9 hours to 11 hours free time.....YAY!!!!!!

This is such a pretty park....we are going on 30 years in this town and we very seldom used the park....always too busy  guess. Now they let people walk their dogs through the park. When we had Hyko and Kylie...doggies were not allowed. We could only walk around the park on the street!!!!

See the cute card to the right? "If you're feeling blue....try painting yourself a different color". I did not make it....but, think I will try, I have the birdie, just would have to color it and write in the saying. Guess, when I get "a round tuit" I will try making it....lol!

Well JP had a Pet Scan and liver panel today, to see if he has cancer and if the cancer in his eye did or did not spread through his body. If that is the case, no cancer in his body, then our next appointment will be in Green Bay at St. Vincent's and he will have the surgery on his eye.

JP is not doing all that good, all his health issues are getting him down, many times he say's he want's to quit. He is at a place where he may be put in an assisted living or nursing home and he will get 24/7 help. It is getting harder to care for him now. He does not get a lot of sleep and neither do I as I am up with him till sometimes 4 am. Sometimes his sleeping pill does not kick in cause he seems to fight it and gets a lot of arm pains that last 15-20 minutes. Yeah, it is tough to watch at times cause he will hit his arm 4-5 times and moan and groan, scream and shout!!!!

Well, I think I will close here for now, I want to go to YouTube and watch a few of my favorite YouTuber people with Chateaus in France, my get away places. So you all take care and keep looking up....I do believe....better days are coming!!! Cheers ~ Louise

Where Has Summer Gone???

Hi there everyone......can you tell me where summer has gone???? I closed my eyes and BOOM summer disappeared. In some ways I am glad, in some ways not. I will not miss the hot, high humidity that is for sure. There was no escape from the heat, and it seemed the stores I went into, their air-conditioning was turned down, like as if they were saving energy or something.

I like cool weather....the 70's are my favorite temperatures. Yeah, that is livable. Well...September is standing before us, so now I guess there will be less hot days and more cooler weather. I don't mean to rush things, but then winter is not far behind.

I heard someone ask the question, "Why does winter go slow and the summer go so fast?" Do you know the answer????? I wonder if we have so much planned for the summer, which makes time fly. Winters are slow times and not so much is planned which makes time go slow.....I don't know, only guessing.
So in these next few pictures is the growth of my two sunflowers in the front of the house. The first picture are the early days of the growing season.
Here we are, almost about to show our glory.
 Another view from afar.
Blooming....blooming.....blooming in all her glory! I am sure, there are many sunflowers in heaven!!!
Another view up close. The other day the second sunflower bloomed. I have two other sunflower plants growing at the neighbors house...they are much smaller then these...not sure why, the seeds came from the same package.....I shall have to take pictures of the other two sunflowers.

Well time to close, have to go downstairs and finish my cards for the Hospice meeting on Friday. Talk to you later, keep looking up, cause better days are coming. Cheers ~ Louise

A Garden Walk On Saturday

Hi there everyone. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. I did....yes I did. Except for the mosquitoes, the days were perfect, as I sit here typing and scratching those little bites. Was just sitting on the front porch for 10 minutes and they found me!!!!! UGE!!!! I found that spraying some "Salonpas" which relieves pain also works to relieve the itch of the skeeter bites, I will try anything at least once if it helps a bit.

Well, yesterday we went on a "garden walk" of 5 gardens sponsored by the Master Gardeners of Appleton. We went to 3 of the gardens. One garden I did not take pictures. But the last two gardens were absolutely beautiful as you will see....so many great ideas.
In this  picture, I liked the way the plants were planted in old crocks and the cute little water fountain in the front is always such an eye catcher to me. Love the sound of water running.
This is the back of the house and another water fountain....I like that door as a decoration and the ladder to the left has a climbing Clementius....good idea.
Here is another crock with some Hydrangeas growing in it......very pretty. I do have a large crock....but I am not sure I want to use it as a planter as yet.
A garden is not complete without a few homemade signs. "When Heaven falls to Earth - It becomes' a garden" (Not exactly sure what that word is after the saying)
In this picture, is the second garden walk. Look at that beautiful garden, lots of vegies and flowers mixed together. I love all the little walk ways, stones, boards and what all this gardener found to make her garden attractive.
This picture shows her creativeness in using different things to catch the eye, plus the usefulness...this old pot belly stove became a hoe, rake and shovel holder in the middle of her garden.....good idea.
Now this was the center of attraction for me.....her workshop, with all her garden utensils.....gosh, I sure would love a little shop like this for all my stamping stuff. And look at all that work space. There was an upstairs also....it looked like her "get away place to hide."
This is the sign hanging in her shop. "I live in the garden I just sleep in the house"
This sweet little girl's sign says, "God laughs in the Flowers"
And the last sign says,"May all  your weeds be wildflowers"

After going on this walk....now I have lots of projects I would like to do, to add a little sparkle to my garden. I still have my "Freida the Frog" made out of tires to make, a dragon fly, made out of fan blades. I want to paint the old bike downstairs pink or white, paint my daisies on the garden shed and put shutters up.....yeah, so much to do yet. By the time I get everything done....Fall might be here. Well, I hope you liked this little tour of 2 gardens....I still have a few more pictures, so I shall show you them in Part 2 coming in a few days.

Tomorrow I have and eye appointment at 11am. The Doctor is going to talk to me about my options with cataract surgery and probably check my eyes again....I need to ask him just exactly what am I seeing when I have cataracts, I know I am seeing lots of floaters which really irritates me. Sometimes I feel like a bug is flying by and I want to swat it.

Well, you have a great day and keep looking up. Cheers ~ Louise

I Need 2 B Here!!!!

Hi everyone, how's everything going with you all. Oh.....it was thundering and raining all day here today and last night also, I am missing the sun. Today, not such a motivating day. I looked around the house and I see so much work that needs to be done and I am not feeling like doing anything. Sure do hope this feeling passes.

So, I am perusing through Pinterest and see this above picture, suddenly I thought, now that looks like a place I would like to walk through....and maybe never walk out of, maybe stay for a couple of days. Can almost smell the beautiful smells of these blossoms, wonder where it is?????????? Could it be a picture of Heaven???
This picture is from a Marriot Hotel in Hawaii......Hawaii, that is a place that I would like to visit sometime. Would love to swim around in that water and hear the water falling......soothing to the soul.
Look at this wonderful bathroom.....looks like the tub is in an open space........mmmm....now if that is a Jacuzzi also????? Oh my, a piece of heaven. Are you getting the feeling I need a vacation, or something????
Now here is another place that I could fall in love with and never get tired of swinging in the breeze and listening to the waves crash........and so I am looking at all these beautiful places to go, when I come upon this...............
Yep.....God has a way of speaking to us in the most interesting ways. I know I probably will never be able to get to these beautiful places........so I guess I can only dream. But I know God has me right where he wants me......here, typing away on this blog, listing my cards and vintage stuff on Etsy. Cooking for JP, cleaning house, gardening, shopping, making cards, walking Kylie.......and what ever else. It's a pretty simple life, but it's where God has put me for this time and place.

Hope you have a good evening and keep looking up, things do get better.....in God's time, not so much ours. Cheers ~ Louise

Let's Go Swimming Someplace Warm.....

Hi everyone....hope you are all well and keeping warm or cool where ever you are living. Well, it is 11 degrees here today in Wisconsin. Guess it will be 5 to 15 degrees this whole week....better then 0 degrees huh?!?

I am ready to go someplace warm and take a nice swim, get your bathing suit ready and let's go swimming!!!
Not sure where this lovely place is, found it on Pinterest.com It sure looks inviting. An indoor-outdoor pool, oh yum. Probably a piece of heaven. Many years ago, when my mother and step-father moved out to Las Vegas, they bought a beautiful house with an out-door pool and jacuzzi. I went out there to visit them, it was 1988. We did a lot of site seeing and walked through a lot of casinos and ate a LOT of food.

My main focus was their swimming pool, of which I practically lived in every chance I got. I could only swim in the morning and late afternoon or evening. Because the afternoon sun was just too hot and not realizing it, the skin could burn real quick. So I would do the early morning or late evening swims.....like until 10:30pm, and later if I could. But my mother would call me in...."Louise, it's getting late, time to come in" (???). Geez, I was 42 years old then, and she was calling me in, cause it was late!!!! (What????)

But, while I was out there in the pool by myself, it sure felt like a piece of heaven, just loved it. I think even now I would just love to jump in that pool and just float around....doesn't that sound just heavenly about now????
This picture from Pinterest.com is in Japan. Looks like it must be heated, has to be with all that snow on the rocks. Oh but it sure does look inviting doesn't it? Would just love to put my feet in the water and let my feet and legs dangle in that water. Another piece of heaven, I would say!!!
Now this picture was also found in Pinterest.com is from Pamukkale, Turkey. Okay...here is what I found by googling about these beautiful blue pools: "If you love seeking out surreal sites, that look not of this world, then do we have a destination for you. Pamukkale, or "cotton castle" in Turkish, is an unreal little village that has some of the most spectacular turquoise water terraces you will ever lay eyes on. For thousands of years, people have come here to bath in the hot springs. There are 17 of them in all that range in temperature from 35 °C (95 °F) to 100 °C (212 °F). What makes this site so breathtaking, however, is how the pools look against the white limestone mountains. The terraces are made of travertine, a form of limestone deposited by the thermal waters.

For those looking to take a dip, sadly you're out of luck. As world traveler Michael Turtle states, "Whereas once you could swim in the travertines, now security guards keep a watchful eye on anyone trying to get too close. Other than a special swimming pool that has been constructed away from the cliffs, Pamukkale is generally to be seen but not touched these days.
"In many ways, that’s to be applauded. The site is a truly remarkable natural phenomenon and it would be a pity if human interference damaged it permanently for future generations."

I Wonder who those people are swimming in the pool...perhaps the guards??? But it sure does look relaxing there and those people look very happy just laying there enjoying the warm waters. Aaahhhhhhh, heavenly!!!
This too is from Pinterest.com. I posted this picture once before, liking it so much, I am posting it again. It is someplace in Greece, another place that looks so inviting. Would love to just splash around in this pool all the day long. No cares in the world, no stress to drag me down, no worries. No pain, no tears.....well that sounds like heaven again!!! Yes, someday, and someday soon we'll be in the shelter of God's arms and finally have that peace we all long to have....yep, someday soon, we'll be splashing around in the heated pools of His healing.

Well, I hope you had a great day. Keep warm and talk to you later.... Cheers ~ Louise

My Friend Died Today

June 24, 1947 ~ July 17, 2011

She died after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.

She will be missed dearly, but I know she is with Jesus today. That is by far a better place to be. Sad for us, but happy for her, you were a blessing to know.

We did alot of fun and wild things together. Trips to Kansas and Door County, Church, praying together, waving flags, letters to Jesus, visions, music and singing, long talks on the phone and in the car and after church, eating out, celebrating birthdays, Christmas, and whatever else came up.

Friends come and go in our lives, and then there are friends that will be remembered forever!

That is you Chrissy dear, rest in peace!!!

Enjoy eternity with your best friend, Jesus!!!
