Hi there everyone....how you all doing?? Not sure where this month went, but it passed by pretty quickly. Although it was quite stressful for the most part.
So below you will see a printer. FINALLY bought one like this today, it's only been a yearmy old printer went capoot. When ever I had the money, it had to go for something else. Got it hooked up tonight, have not tried it as yet. It's a little bite different then my old one, of course much newer.
I had to write out my recipes by hand instead of printing them. What a bummer. So now I have lots of hand written recipes instead of lovely copied ones.
The interesting thing, in how I got the money for the printer is pretty strange. It seems there was a lawsuit against the Office Depot and support. "Many customers who took their computers to Office Depot for a free 'PC Health Check' were told their computers had symtoms of malware - even when that wasn't true. The FTC says that these bogus scans, provided by Support, convinced many customers to buy unnecessary computer repair services". The companies agreed to settle the lawsuit. According to Office Depot's records, I was one of the customers who paid for computer repair services between 2012 and 2016. (gosh that means my computer might be about 5-6 years old.) So anyways, I got a check for $47.74 and decided this was a good time to finally get a new printer. AMAZING!!!! I paid $29.00 for this printer. It will be good to have one finally.
I was using Heartland Hospice stickers inside my cards. One of the ladies gave me a bunch of stickers to use till I got a printer, now I can do my inserts for the cards, instead of stickers. Yeeeaaaaa!!
I have to tell you a funny story. I went into Best Buy to check prices for a printer (to high, cheapest was $44). Then I ask a salesman about a ROKO that gives you most TV channels if a person decides to cut the TV cable. Anyways I wanted something I would be able to still watch my HOCKEY GAMES. The one salesman says, "What team do you watch? I said Blackhawks, he said Booooooo. I said what team do you watch? He said Detroit Red Wings....I said Boooooo!! Blackhawks and Red Wings are rivals of course and they are part of the Original 6 teams that started in '26 there about. So anyways the other salesman says, I am a Pittsburg Penquin fan! Oh how funny, so we started talking hockey while he tried to sell me a ROKO...said I would think about it after the season is over.
Then off I went to Walmart and found this printer for $29.00
So my Blackhawks are doing pretty good right now...there is only 18 more games left for the Hawks and they are 6 points out of the Wild Card. To get in the Wild Card you make it into the play-offs....so it is getting pretty exciting. If they can win 8 or 9 games that might do it.
We lost a good goalie, Lehner...he was traded to Las Vegas Golden Knights. They are playing tonight so I want to see how Lehner does. I imagine ALL the Blackhawks will be watching this game also.
The Hawks played last night and beat the #1 team Lightning Bolts in the Atlantic league, they have 113 points. Tomorrow the Hawks play the 4th place team Florida Panthers in the Atlantic league. Should be interesting, cause the Panthers coach used to be the Hawks coach till he was fired....gonna be a wild game I think. The Hawks have something to prove and the Panthers will have something to prove too!!
I think I need a hug from Jesus....it's been a rough month. JP hurt his back at work, he does not remember how....but it was so bad that he has not been able to work the last 15 days. I use his pay check to pay the mortgage....Might have a hard time paying the mortgage in March.....we need a minor miracle. Do pray for us.
Well, time to close here so I can concentrate on this Hockey game between the Golden Knights and Sabers. Want to see how Robin Lehner does. Keep looking up, better days are coming.
Cheers ~ Louise
PS...where did Blogspots spell check go?????? If you see a mistake please overlook.

Last Day of October
Hi there everyone....well can you believe it? It's the last day of October....wow, wow, wow!!! I won't be participating in the Halloween doings today and tonight.....I don't dress up (I look scary enough), don't turn the porch light on and pass out candy to the "tricker-treaters". Nope, no scary pumpkins on this front porch, just two "pumpkin pie" pumpkins, to make pies with for Thanksgiving dinner.
I do have my reasons......first of all, I resent being scared and isn't that what Halloween is about??? Second of all, I will not help to promote diabetes and bad teeth for little children and big kids. Thirdly, have you ever realized how many people, children and animals are sacrificed on this very evening? NOPE I am not a believer in this PAGAN HOLIDAY!!! So there you have it, my reasons for not supporting SATAN!!! Galatians 5:19-21..."and they that do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." You must read the "whole" of those 3 verses to get the complete idea of what God is saying.
My box of Blue Apron food came on Thursday. I made some chicken soup from a chicken from Sam's Club and made this wonderful cheese sandwich and salad to go along with the soup! Man, was this delicious!!! The recipe card says, "Brie & Pear Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Brussels Sprout, Arugula and Hazelnut Salad" I love that I learn so many new things and use different items to make a lovely meal.
The sandwich was sourdough bread, with slices of brie cheese, with slices of a pear and sage leaves on top of the cheese. Then grilled in a pan. This was so good, the sweetness of the pear and sage and cheese balanced each other off. The salad dressing, on the other hand was so good, I could have eaten a whole bowl of salad by myself, but needed to save some for JP's dinner.
A tablespoon of honey and the juice of one lemon, salt and pepper and 2 tablespoons of olive oil, mixed together and poured over the salad. I omitted the hazelnuts as I am allergic to them. JP ate them all....which was fine with me. I might try this dressing on a regular salad....asap!!!
So Yeah, I would give this grilled cheese sandwich 5 Stars!!!!! I will make it again and again.
I had my computer fixed and got it home Thursday. And yeah, I am still trying to learn all the new things about it.
I was going to blog yesterday, but found I could not download my pictures from the camera into the computer.....URG!!!!!!! Finally in desperation I called Office Depot and got Josiah, the Tech guy that fixed my computer. He gave me a few steps to follow...1st, using the SDHC card in the camera and inserting into the computer. finally I got the pictures downloaded. Darn, I sure did like the way 8.1 worked better then this Windows 10 in that area.
I personally don't see why some things have to change, but I guess "man" is not happy unless he is about changing things, to make things better (?) but inadvertently he makes things worse. Oh well, that's my pet peeve for the day.
This morning I went to turn on the computer and then I could not get on the Internet......I tried and tried, even pulled the plug on the machine. Nope, it would not work. Again, in my conversation to Josiah.....he said to type in Internet Explorer then take that icon and put it on my desktop.....as you can see, I am on the Internet. I tell you, all the hoops one must jump through to get something figured out.
One of the other things I had done to my computer was, finally I had the "office" program installed which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. Not sure how much PowerPoint and OneNote will be used....but who knows. I really wanted a Photo Shop program installed but Josiah said my computer would not or could not handle it. Oh well, guess I have to figure out another way to fix my pictures and add words and stuff.
After church tomorrow, I am going to the Stampin'Up Camp. I wondered how I would pay for part of this and it was neat that God, provided the money for me to go and make some cards and buy a stamp set. A friend called me to ask if I would cut her hair.....sure I said, and she gave me $25....I used to be a hairdresser back in the day, yeah, there I times I wish I had continued, but things change and so does life. But anyways, I still cut my hair and JP's hair, so I am still not out of the game. JP and I joke around about how much he owes me in haircuts and tips....yeah, big time!!!!!
Well, I guess I better close here for now, tonight I want to finish making my Hospice cards. Have a meeting on the 6th, this Friday. So just a few more cards to make and I will have at least 50 cards to donate.
You all have a great evening, maybe I will see you tomorrow with the cards I made at Stampin'Up Camp. Keep looking up!!!
Cheers ~ Louise

Computers ~ Computers ~ Computers!!!!!
Can't live with them and can't live without them. Well, at least I can say my computer was not peed on like this one...hahahaha!!!! Thought I would be off-line for a couple of days but that did not happen. Thank God.
Took the computer to Office Depot and "Joe" figured out that I needed more memory. What with all the things I listed that were wrong with this machine. So, he had me go to www.newegg.com to order 2 Add-On - Memory Upgrades which will come to my house. (my computer is 8 years old, so Office Depot does not carry the memory sticks for my machine anymore). Once the memory sticks show up, I will have to unplug everything and take it back to Office Depot. Then they will clean my PC and remove a few programs that I tried removing that would not budge.....Joe said he would rip them out with a program he has.....that would be fine with me as a couple of these programs are causing problems.
Joe works Monday, Tuesday and Friday's so these two memory gadgets must show up tomorrow or Monday the latest. Tuesday will mean no computer till Friday, then I really will be off-line for a couple of days, like maybe 3 days! Yikes, will I survive????? Thinking I will bring the computer up from down stairs and plug that in and see if it works.......maybe this transition will not be as hard as I am thinking.
So, what did you think of the great debate on Thursday??? I am getting a great feeling about these elections. I love the way Obama is crying foul and calling Romney a liar. Romney on the other hand is standing firm and pointing out all the things Obama has NOT done in his 4 years as President. "Do we really want another 4 years like these last 4 years?" No, I sure don't. The liberals sure have been grasping at straws lately, will be interesting to watch. We are in BIG trouble if Obama gets back in the White House.......Mrs Obama says "If my husband wins, we are going to party hard that night." So my question is, "Isn't that what you have been doing these past 4 years??????"
Well, guess I shall call this a day. Need to go ride my bike tonight, work on shaving some more miles off the 170 mile challenge. I have 85 miles to go by November 2nd. We'll see how far I get.
So you all have a great evening and keep looking up for your redemption draws nigh. Cheers ~ Louise

Computers....computers....computers!!!!
Just like a man.....can't live with them and can't live without them!!!! Not going to blog much today.........having major computer problems and will be taking this baby in for an overhaul!!! Booooooo! What will I do without it, just not too sure. Thinking I might pull up my old computer from downstairs and see if that is working. I might have some old pictures on it that I could download onto a flashdrive. Won't hurt to try.
Not sure what is wrong with this thing, just did not want to start up this afternoon, had to shut it down 3 times before it started up right. Was not getting my icons???? Never had that problem before. Clicked and clicked and clicked all over the screen and nothing happend. Finally just went and let the dogs out and came back and wala, there was my icons. Then I tried clicking internet explorer and it took 15 minutes to come up....that is when I called Office Depot. "HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM" So, it has been 2 years since I last had my computer cleaned by Office Depot, so maybe it is time. Had more memory put into it at that time and the guy said I shouldn't need anymore...........but, the "Virtual memory was low" box came up a couple of times, so I am thinking there is a slight problem there.
Well, it is time to close, have to go make JP's lunch so he can go off to work. I then need to work outside for awhile. Guess it is time to clean up the yard and chop down some weeds. I feel like I am behind in my gardening..............but, it is not Memorial Weekend yet so there is still time.....You all have a great week and I will see you when I see you. Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh!!!
Many Cheers to you all ~ Louise
