House Mouse Challenge

Hi everyone...how is your Saturday going?? It was so beautiful this morning, I had all intentions to working outside. But, as you know, plans change as the day goes on. I got up early to go to a "Warehouse Paper Sale" and also to Festival Foods for a $10.00 box of "dented and scratched" canned goods and boxed food" and get home by 11am, so JP could have the car to do his errands. His plans fell through, I could have spent more time at the Warehouse sale. Shucks, could have browsed more and not rushed. Oh Well....that is life!!!

My "$10 box of dented cans and packaged foods" was a success. Probably getting $45 worth of food from soups, tuna, beans, vegies, cereals, and candy. Some of the things we don't use, I pass on to the Pastor's son.

Also, my trip to the Warehouse sale, I got 3 stamp pads in red, green and purple and re-inkers to match. Some pretty card stock and paper. We are also able to make and take a couple of cards. Maybe I will take pictures and download those pictures in my next blog.

I have entered a challenge on another blog. "America" makes cards with "House Mouse" stamps. I just love her cards....she has been gone for awhile (moving) and just came back. If you go to her blog, you will be able to see her "give away" which will be October 1st....well, I am just hoping I will be that "blessed" winner for this "give away." So here is a cute little "House Mouse" all dolled up in a pumpkin outfit. Pretty cute!!!

Not exactly sure why I can't get the picture of all this luscious candy so you can see it. The ABC's of Friendship

Found this little gem on Facebook and thought it worthy of sharing. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I've learned over the years, that some friends are not meant to be "forever friends". That some come into your life for a day or two and some for just a season. Some stay for half a life time and still some others are there your whole life, that pop in and out at different times....but you know they are still there. 

I think the best friend you could possibly have is Jesus, cause he sticks closer then a brother and it looks to me....he has all those qualities you see in the above chart. Next on the list is your spouse.......if you are so blessed to have one. After the first two, your kids and your family....it there are any left. Then comes the friends.......for me those are my blog friends and stamping friends.......Hello friends!!!!

Keep your friends close by, you never know when you may need a friend. Don't toss them away as if they were a piece of trash and by all means....at least give them a second, a third and a forth chance. Isn't that what Jesus would do?? I wonder what would happen if Jesus only gave us "ONE" chance, don't think there will be many in Heaven. My goodness, even in baseball a player is given "3 strikes ~ and you are out"!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Wanted to wish all my blog friends a Very Merry Christmas.

Well, the busyness of shopping, making cards and sending them, decorating, making gifts and cookies, (still working on JP's Christmas present) is coming to a climax. Whew, so, so busy. Plus I was dealing with some kind of cold that put me down for a week. Still not feeling that well, but much better then I was.

Tonight for dinner I am making a little steak and shrimp, salad and crispy mashed red potatoes........sure do like this little recipe, here it is:

Crispy Smashed Potatoes

4 ~ 1 1/2 inch red potatoes
olive oil
salt and water
seasoning (your choice) or kosher salt and pepper

Scrub potatoes and in a pan big enough to hold the amount of potatoes you want, add water and some salt. Bring to boil over high heat. Then reduce heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes or until "fork tender" or until the fork meets little resistance.

Preheat oven to 450. Add olive oil to a nonstick baking pan with an edge. Use enough to have it "pool" a lit not just coat. Add the potatoes and "smash" to about 1/2 inch thick. I used a potato masher or fork.

Brush top with more olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and anything else you want.
Bake until brown and crisp. About 20-25 minutes. I like extra crispy, so I leave them in a little longer.

Takes about 1 hour to make but very worth the time.

Happy eating and enjoy tonight and tomorrow, Christmas Day. We are going to Jim and Arlene's house for ham dinner at noon. Probably spend a couple of hours with them. Then home and relax.....not sure when we will open gifts between JP and I, maybe when I get his present done????? Gosh, that could be next week.....hahahahaha
