And the Winners of This Lovely Card are.....

Hi there everyone...hope you are having a good day. So we got home from church today, and the first thing I did was pick the 4 names out of the bowl. And....these are the winners of this lovely Victorian Valentine card.

1 - Patricia - www.patricia-heythereitsme.blogspot.com
2 - Tina - www.kittykatkards.blogspot.com
3 - Brenda - www.inkspiredtostamp.blogspot.com
4 - Biz - www.mybizzykitchen.com

Hope you will visit their blogs also.....I visit them daily, always looking forward to what they have posted and getting some new idea, whether it be card making, food making, exercise or just a little encouragement in daily life.

Tina recently posted a great recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Mug Cake....oh my was that DE-LISH-OUS!!!!! Oh and she makes some really neat cards and sells on Etsy too.
Biz posts wonderful ideas about food, dieting and exercise...she is a daily visit....and I must have something to eat before I read her blog because I drool over the food she makes!! She has entered a couple of Recipe Contests and is a contender to win 10k for a pizza she made. Can hardly wait to see if she wins!!
Brenda always has great ideas about making cards. She lives life day by day tackling the problems she deals with living with a husband who has Alzheimer's.
Patricia took a wonderful cruise to Alaska....it was so refreshing, felt like I had gone there too even if it was via blogland. She posts lots of food too, along with everyday life.

So there you have it, the winners. I will get the cards addressed tonight and sent in the mail tomorrow. Hopefully you will see your card by Valentines Day and the Pony Express moves swiftly through the bad weather that is coming soon.

Have a great night and keep looking up. Cheers ~ Louise

A Liebster Award Nomination!!!

Hi everyone. Well today I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Brenda at http://inkspiredtostamp.blogspot.com  Please visit her blog, she makes really cute cards and I enjoy visiting her everyday to see what she is up to.

She has given me some questions to answer and here they are:

1. Do you scrapbook as well as make cards? Yes, but not much. I have put a "dog" scrapbook together of all the dogs we have had and last Christmas made my husband a scrapbook of his racing day back in 1972-73...but it's not finished yet. I do prefer card making to scrapbookking though.
2. Are you a daytime or nighttime stamper? Mostly a nighttime stamper.
3. Do you listen to music or have the TV on when you stamp? TV
4. Are you a stay at home stamper or do you join others at a local place and stamp? Mostly stay at home, but I do go once a month to a lady's house to stamp and she shows us some of her new techniques in card making. I am also involved with a Hospice group, that meets every two months, we bring cards we have made specifically for Hospice adding their inserts. They will be shared with people with cancer.
5. Where do you shop for supplies (online, brick and mortar store or other)? My favorite place to shop was at Archivers (they are closed now), but now maybe I will start shopping on line via Archivers.com  I still go to Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's and Micheals. But honestly, I did most of my shopping at Archivers.
6. Are most of your friends stampers? No
7. Do you craft with others in your family? No

Now I am nominating seven people for this award. You can visit their blogs and learn about them here.

http://kittykatkards.blogspot.com
http://creativekornerbykellie.blogspot.com
http://scrappinanstampininGJ.blogspot.com
http://popperandmimi.blogspot.com

These are the questions I would like to ask:
1) How long have you been stamping and are there other crafts you do?
2) How do you get your inspiration?
3) What are your favorite techniques?
4) What do you do with the cards you make? Or other crafts?
5) If you were given 1 million dollars, what would you do with it?
6) What season is your favorite for making cards?
7) Do you sell your cards on Etsy?
Copy and paste the Leibster Award on your blog.

Here are the rules for the nomination:

1.Be sure to thank the blog that nominated you and be sure to link back to their blog.
2.Answer the 7 questions that the blogger asked you.
3.Nominate 7 of your favorite blogs with under 500 followers and ask your own 11 questions.
4.Make sure to let each blogger know about your Liebster Blog nomination on their blog (leave a comment and link back to your Liebster Blog post).
If you need to know what this Liebster Award is all about you can go HERE and read all about it....

Have a great day and do visit some of these blogs.

Coffee and Taxes and Garage Sales

NOT!!!!!
Now that will get your attention......hahahahaha!!! So how is your day going? Just by reading Facebook and a few blogs today, I have noticed a few people have already been out running or baking or resting. ME, just contemplating what I'm going to do next, after doing this blog. {Well, as you can see, I changed the look of this blog, for 1 thing. Do you like it, looks a little antiquey, like me!!!}

Going to have a garage sale September 20th and 21st, am hoping the weather will be fine, if not I am sunk. I could try for this next week-end I suppose, but would really have to hustle to get stuff marked and set-up. Much depends on the weather, no one will come in the rain, I wouldn't.

Retirement has been very busy for me.......don't know where I would fit in working if I was still doing that. And, how in the world did I do it all those years of working and keeping a house and all the other things I was involved in......just don't know. I didn't even have "kids" added to the quota. Just a husband and lots of animals along the way. I guess we do what we have to do at the time we are doing it!!!! It all works out in the end like the wash on Monday mornings!!!

Well, I better get going if I am even going to accomplish a few things today, like try at least getting the garage cleaned and ready for the Garage sale. See ya' later and have a great day in what ever you do today and keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh!!! Cheers to all ~ Louise

2012.........1st Post of the Year!!!

As this is my 1st blog of 2012 just thought a picture would be a good starter. Lookin' through over hundreds of "funny pictures" that really did not make me laugh nor did I think they were funny. Some peoples humor goes way over my head!!!! But as I looked through all the funny pictures I began to get very drowsy and finally came to this little picture..........ah yes, this is the one, as I really do like taking naps and was about to stop looking at the "funny pictures" and shut down the computer. Well, lucky for you I didn't, cause this lovely blog would have gone unfinished.

Well, now that I have put you to sleep..........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! Wake up, wake up!!!!!!!!

Did you all make any resolutions for the New Year??? I thought about it, but sometimes they are just too hard to keep. I might just try continuing what I started in 2011.
1. continue on my journey to lose some weight and reverse diabetes.
(now these following thoughts are new for 2012)
2. paint a room or two this year....been awhile since I painted and redecorated.
3. this spring, paint the porch floor.
4. get some cards into a few beauty shops.
5. get the kitchen ceiling fixed.
6. these are long shots.........get a new or used stove and couch.
7. more mini-vacations on Lake Winnebago and a vacation this year.
8. more blogs then last year.
9. learn something new.
10. lose an old habit, what that is I don't know as yet.
11. continue on in my personal relationship with Jesus.
12. make a new friend.
13. weed through the house, get rid of stuff not used for a couple of years.
14. garage sale this summer?

Well that is 14 things to work on, there probably are more, but this is a good start. Will have to remember these resolutions are here so I can keep reading them every now and then.

Well, gonna close for now, have to get some things done, pay a few bills and go to the bank and Walmart, oh and Penzies spices for some Cinnamon sticks. (I am really liking Cinnamon tea, lowers the blood sugars)

Talk to you later and remember, keep looking up for your redemption drawth nigh.
Cheers ~ Louise

Memorial Day..........

We won't be doing too much on this day, probably stay around the house in the morning. Do a little shopping in the afternoon, need dirt and dog food, maybe some hamburger and buns for cooking on the grill...........what a conbination, to say the least.

We have a funeral to go to in the late afternoon, but we are still not sure if we will be going to it yet. Our pastor from 15 years ago died, He had many things wrong, guess they were expecting him to die for the last 5 months..............well, he certainly is in a better place. He finally got raptured and has met Jesus face to face.

Been getting lots of things done around the outside of the house, we just figured we have about 25 different flowers planted around the house, some have come up by themselves and some have been planted with seeds and bulbs. JP planted 90 gladiolis bulbs (pink and white....mmmm can hardly wait to have them displayed in and around the house). We have some square foot gardening going, what fun that will be, planted some cucumbers in the one box...........the other one will have radishes, beans,.....................not sure what else. JP painted one of the old grills red and we put some dirt in it and planted onions and spinich in that one. We have another grill to paint, maybe that one will be green.........or blue, not sure yet.

I made another set of cards, 12 little 3 x 3 1/2 thank you cards for whatever you would like to use them for, here is a picture, I had fun making them, each one is different in some way. Each card is blank on the inside so you can write whatever you would like. The cards will come well packed and I probably will put an extra card in along with these little cards as a special gift for buying my cards

These cards do not come with an envelope, but can be tied to the gift with the ribbon. I believe I am selling these cards at $.58 cents a piece that would be $7.00 plus postage, might run you about $8.50. I have thought about doing "Free" postage, but I am not in a good financial position to do that as of yet. Maybe if I had $200 under my belt I could do it. But for now it's not a good idea. Best way to buy the cards would be to go to my Etsy store at: http://www.cards4ubylouise.etsy.com/ you can use your credit card, Paypal will take care of the transaction for you, just be sure to follow through to the end of the transaction. The reason I say that is that I have read where many people do not follow through and the sales somehow gets lost, it shows up sold at the etsy shop but for some reason the sales did not go through......I have read many horror stories about this all.

Well I have rambled on long enough, hope you are enjoying my blogs and are not too bored. My husband started a blog, actually I started it for him, he has yet to enter anything into it. You can find him at: http://goodnewsministriesinc.blogspot.com/ and you can go to my other blog at: http://cards4ubylouise2.blogspot.com/

You have a great day and put your best foot forward, no reason to look back, nothing you can do about it anyway, it's already done.

Louise
