Cards Made Today!!!

Hi there everyone, how did your day go for you today? My day was fine. Always fine, when I know I am going to be making cards at Betty's. She comes up with such great ideas. Today's cards were all Christmas cards.

 The card above.....so very pretty. We placed a cut out circle on the card stock, then sponged around the circle with blue and violet ink. The trees are from Stampin'up.  We then dotted the picture with glue for snow, then sprinkled with glitter. The deer's were die-cuts...guess I shall have to fine out where they are from, cause I don't have any deer's in my stash to duplicate this card.

 This was a neat card, it folds and does fit in an A2 envelope for mailing. The snowman is colored with copic markers. Cute card. I also like the sparkly back ground of the material I brought to take these pictures with. If I take the pictures right after they are made....no doubt I will get them on my blog quicker.

 This was an easy card to put together. You can see that the blue background is a little village. The white are the snowflakes. Then the 3 lights on a post and cats roaming the street.

This card was done with water color pencils, I got the back ground too yellow, should have been a lighter yellow, then it would have looked better. Maybe if I could have done another card, could have done better. Oh well, live and learn.

I stopped off at GFS to do a bit of shopping. Picked up some olives, JP's chocolate donuts, some ham, instant mash potatoes, nachos and a pretty copper plastic plate for Christmas cookies or a picky plate of cheese, salami, deviled eggs and olive plate. Still thinking on that plate for next months card making session and Christmas snacks at Betty's.

I will be home for the next 4 days......not going no where!!! Hopefully the furnace man will come and fix our furnace and tune it up. We also have 3 gas leaks that were temporarily fixed by Wisconsin Electric when the new gas meter was replaced. I guess they do that every 5-10 years.  

I still have some tomatoes to can, they have been sitting in the fridge....so yeah, that is on the agenda for tomorrow or Friday. I suppose I could find some other things to do....maybe I should just get lost downstairs and make some cards for Christmas, now that I am in the mood.

Time to close this post, need to go do some dishes before JP comes home. Dinner is cooked, pork steak, potato, fruit and rhubarb pie. So you all have a great evening and keep looking up, better days are coming. Cheers ~ Louise

An Etsy Sale and 4 New Christmas Cards

Hi there everyone....how did your Saturday go today???? Mine was quiet, which is what I like. Husband was gone most of the day, so I could get a few things done without interruptions. He left the house about 10am....so that gave me another hour of sleep. Woke up at 11am, did my blood sugars which was a little high today. 144, must have been the pasta last night. Well, we had some more pasta tonight, so we shall see what the numbers will be tomorrow morning.

I wanted to get downstairs and set up my old computer, it's been sitting on the work bench for 9 months.....but I never made it. (still have 5 hours before bed time though, so there is still time). Maybe when I am done blogging here.

Changed the linens on the bed and moved the bed around on a different wall. Dust mopped and vacuumed the floor, ah, now we have a new room. Took pictures of the cards I made on Thursday, so I could post them here tonight. Oh, and another thing I did today, went over bills for the month to see how much will be paid on each. That is always a challenge, to see how far the pay checks stretch.

Thursday I went to a friends house to make these cards. Gosh, been going to her house once a month for 7-8 years...so here is card #1....it's all die cuts and we just glued the pieces on the cardstock which had been run through a cuttlebug. Those are snowflakes in the background.

Card #2....Die cuts and cuttlebug folder, I like this folder and do have this one at home....pretty, pretty. A deer, holly and greenery.

Card #3.....a wreath die cut, this was a fun one. The background is a cuttlebug folder with dots and swirls.

Card #4....a round scalloped circle, cut and inked then popped up to make it look like a pine cone. The background was run through the cuttlebug with a dot folder. So there you have it, an array of Christmas cards, I might just use these to send out to family and friends this year. Watch your mail box....who knows...you may be one of the blessed recipients.

I mentioned in my title that I had an Etsy Sale the other day.....yes, they always makes my day. 15 Christmas cards....will be due in the mail in the next few days. It's always fun to see "Etsy Transaction" in my email....my heart always skips a beat....thank you!!!!!

Well, time to close for tonight and go to my other blog and put these cards up there. You all have a great day tomorrow and keep looking up. Sorry my blog was so boring....there are some days I lead a very quiet and boring life I guess. BUT....watch out next weekend....Going out to eat and celebrate 68 years of life....how in the world did I get this old?????

Garden Walk on Saturday 15th

Hi Everyone. Well today I am taking you on a Garden Walk JP and I went on Saturday the 15th. The weather was threatening to rain but it didn't rain till the evening.

House #1 ~ In the above picture we are at a garden in Appleton that had 703 different types of hostas. My goodness it was a gorgeous back yard. Oh and with different backyard decks, which I did not take pictures of, but I could see one being the morning deck for coffee and the second deck being the dinner deck. (sigh-dream, dream, dream)

In the picture above of the same garden walk is this cute idea of an old wooden ladder with a cute little clememtis climbing up.......I thought was very cute, we shall be on the look out for an old ladder now. Not sure where I will put it though.

In this picture is one of the many hostas, with a lovely rose growing by it. Not sure of it's name, but I thought it was so very lovely what with the wind chimes chiming and the roses growing.

House #2 ~ This metal watering can caught my eye the moment we walked up to this garden.....I said Jay, I need to get a metal watering can and bird bath.........sooooo cute! The can is hanging from a shepherds hook and there are rocks inside the watering can to keep it hanging at the angel it is. Little crystals hang from the spout to look like water. Sweet.

House #2 ~ Had this cute garden bench along side the garden shed, another thing to make for my back yard. I do have a door already, just need to find a wooden table........cute, cute, cute!!! Some people are so creative!!!!

 House #3 ~ This back yard was just totally beautiful.......so big and lucious. I love the way they designed a garden next to their garden shed. There was another garden on the other side, but alas I did not take a picture of it.

 House #3 ~ had many trees in their back yard with lots of different hostas growing under the trees. Very pretty.

 House #4 ~ They had this beautiful water fountain, oh golly it was just beautiful sounding, there were goldfish in this pond. The water was going down two sides of the fountain.

 House #4 ~ Here is a lovely fire-pit. Really a nice back yard. The people had pictures of what their yard looked like over the years and there was once a round swimming pool where the fire-pit is sitting. There was a big deck and a bath house with another little fountain......then you walked down some steps and up some more slab steps all the while walking along a little creek. Very rustic and most beautiful.

House # 4 ~ this was the walk up to the front yard.....they found some blue mulch to distingquish the walk and where the plants are.......in the background is a ceramic deer.......was a very nice walk.

We missed one house and started our Garden Walk at the Extension Office, I didn't take any pictures there. Although if you go down about 4-5 blogs you will find the 15th annual plant sale at the Extension Office. I took a few pictures that day of their garden.

Well I think I shall close this blog for today.........there has been alot of storms going through, I've shut down the computer twice already. Sooo, now I think I will go downstairs and work on some cards and try to get a few cards into my Etsy store and on here.....talk later.

♥A Few Father's Day Cards From My Etsy Store♥

Above Father's Day card called "The Lighthouse" could also be a birthday or thank you card. And below the "Golfer" he too can be a birthday or thank you or whatever your desire.

Below is my Father's Day "deer" card, which can also be for a Birthday or Thank you. Actually all three cards can be for either or. All you need do is convo me through Etsy and let me know what you would like stamped on the inside of these cards.

♥A Deer Father's Day♥Our Lives a Vapour♥

Here is that "Deer" card I had told you about in a previous post. Made 12 cards and each one looks different, guess it was in the way I colored them with my copic markers. In making the card, laid a stencil down and taped it then spread white "Dreamweaver" paste over it. Pulled off the tape and stencil which left a raised layer of paste. Let it dry overnight. Then colored in with copic markers. The cards were then layered on black, white and brown cardstock. The white cardstock was run through the cuttlebug with an embossing folder.

Father's Day is just 5 weeks away.......June19th!!!!! My own father died in March of 1961 ~ 50 years ago, seems like only a "vapour" ago. He was a good man and I loved my father very much, I still miss him to this very day. Growing up, he gave me alot of wisdom that I still remember many things he told me. My only regret, I don't think he knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

Have you ever watched smoke come out of a chiminy? I have, often. This verse always comes to mind. "Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is life? It is even a vapour, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away." (James 4:14) Our lives are like a vapour, here today and gone tomorrow. But in this verse the Bible comentary says "that making plans without God proclaims the fact that we consider ourselves to be our own master and if the Lord does not guide our lives, then all is a waste".

Certainly is food for thought isn't it? I wonder how much of my life was lived without asking God to lead and guide my steps? How much of my life was lived according to the agendas of other people and what other people thought I should be doing? How much of my life has been lived without even thinking about God and doing my own thing? Would I be where I am now if I had asked God for his direction? Would my life not have been full of regrets if I had "asked God"? I don't know, guess those are questions that shall have to wait to be answered, maybe in eternity???? And, also if my earthly father made it to heaven?

Father's Day Card

Just added another Father's Day Card to my Etsy store last night. Thought I would add it to my blog. Sold a card like this on the 20th, mailing it out on the 22nd. Gosh, that just makes my day when a card is sold. Well, I thought I should get another card up on Etsy just like it, or close to like it.

Very fun to make using Dreamweaver paste, smear it over a gold stencil, then let it dry. The next day I used my mark-it pens to color in. Trying to come as close to looking like deer colors as possible. Well, it turned out pretty good. The inside of the card is stamped "Happy Father's Day" The price of this card is $4.oo plus postage ($5.50) but you will receive one bonus card and bookmark or thank you card for your use. I am in the midst of making butterflies using this same technique....so far they are turning out pretty neat using the Dreamweaver paste, glitter and chalks.
