I find it hilarious that New York City's Groundhog saw his shadow and the Mayor said "Spring is Coming"!!! (So what does that mean...he saw his shadow or he did not see his shadow???) Philadelphia's Groundhog said 6 more weeks....I think these groundhogs need to get their stories straight...don't you???? I think spring will come no matter what, for some, it just might be earlier, rather then later for others. As for the groundhogs, we shall see which one is right. It's sort of like the weatherman...no two can predict the same weather...hahahaha!!
So how are things by you? As my mother always said, "everything is calm and quiet here"......well, for the moment it is quiet here. We had to get our furnace fixed yesterday. Sunday, late night, I was working on making some cards and noticed water leaking around the furnace, then I noticed the carpet was wet.....yikes where is this water coming from???? I never knew the furnace had water running through it...but it does. Here I thought it was the "april-air" but that was never connected. Goes to show how much I know about furnaces. The repairman said, good thing I saw the problem...it could have gotten worse. I am always downstairs, so I could not help but notice....so now I wait for the bill.
Don't forget to comment today or tomorrow....just a "Hi" is good enough to qualify you for a Valentine card from me. Each time you comment is another chance for your name to enter into the bowl, on February 8th, I will pick 4 names to receive a Valentine card from me. Hopefully it will get to you in time as I hear the "pony express" is running pretty slow these days what with weather conditions around the country. I sent a letter to a friend on 1/27 and she just received it yesterday....it was headed towards the east coast, guess it ran into bad weather along the way.
Finally decorated my "Valentine Tree" yesterday.....oh so sweet. I will take a picture of it for you, to get you in the mood for romance!!! Most likely I will buy myself some flowers as the husband is not a romantic person. Maybe we will go out for dinner, just for a change.
Well, time to close, have to go food shopping and pickup meds for JP. Have a good day and keep looking up...stay warm and cozy tonight....it's suppose to snow here again, maybe by you sunshine. Cheers ~ Louise
Where you'll find many cards I have made, to sell, give away and donate to Hospice. You will also find many, many little snapshots of my life which makes me who I am in Christ Jesus and Him Crucified which makes me complete. Colossians 2:10 "And you are complete in Him which is the Head of all principality and power."

Some Vintage Items 4 My Etsy Store
Hi everyone. Hope you are enjoying the wonderful 50-60 degree weather. I think the weather is agreeing with everyone, there seems to be a smile on most of the faces I see during the day...so that is a good sign that Spring is finally here.
I've been a bit busy here. Just got finished with an order of 500 punched out hearts. As soon as the order is picked up on Etsy, off goes the package to the Post Office tomorrow. It sounds like she is a wedding planner or something to that effect....we'll see. I think I was her first Etsy purchase ever....so hopefully she was happy with the service and will return for some more hearts.
I finally finished the application to hopefully get our roof fixed by "Rebuilding Together" They get funds from people and company's to help senior citizens stay in their homes, getting big projects done, like roofs, plumbing, weatherization, heating or whatever needs to be fixed. Someone is coming Tuesday to take a look at the roof and ceiling......gosh, I hope this time it can get fixed. Last time I tried getting help from this group, there were no funds. Another one of those "we'll see" situations.
Isn't this the most sweetest elephant, he's a planter, I found one on Etsy almost like him.....for $22 + postage. I don't know, I think I could get into collecting Elephants. I found an elephant creamer in blue...was going to sell him on Etsy....but I fell in love, he makes me smile every time I look at him......I will take a picture of him in a couple of days and post him so you can smile too.
Here's another view of this sweet elephant. JP brought in some inpatients in the fall....so that is what you are looking at...I am going to root them for planting outside when it gets warmer out.
I picked up this cup and saucer at the thrift store along with the elephants and a couple other cups and saucers. I will be putting this cup and saucer in my Etsy store in the next few days. It's Duchess Bone China made in England in the 70's. Searching other Etsy stores and seeing what prices are going for, for this particular tea cup and saucer, I might sell for $10 - $15....I'll probably check Ebay also. So I've got some more time to do more homework.
It's a very pretty little cup and saucer.....time to take some time to smell the roses with some "Earl Grey" tea and a crumpet with jelly. I think the English have a very wonderful tradition....a cup of tea at 4:00pm....yes, I should do that too.
Time to close here for awhile....talk to you later and keep looking up. The weekend is almost here. Cheers ~ Louise

My Cards4ubylouise Studio
Hi everyone. Hope you are keeping WARM in this freezing cold Polar Vortex?????!!!! Thought I would type a few words while JP eats his dinner....yea, it's about 1:14am and he is slurping up the last of his fruit and yogurt. I made some rustic bread, vegie marinara sauce over spaghetti and beans. Today's marinara sauce includes a 28oz of crushed tomatoes, roasted zucchini, green peppers, onions, carrots, celery, sliced cabbage and garlic. After roasting the vegies, I let them cool, then added the vegies to the crushed tomatoes and brought to a soft boil. Used my immersable blender to blend altogether, you can't even tell there are all those extra wonderful vegies in there. How healthy is this recipe????
I am most definitely spoiled now.....probably will never buy another jar of tomato sauce again.
So here we are in my "Woman Cave". I guess that is what you would call it, my place to get away and play a little. I know, I know that's a lot of stuff. But it is an accumulation of about 15 years or so. Ya just never know when a technique will come up and I just might have the stuff to make it!!! This is the view of where I sit and create. In front and to the side of me are my many pens. The drawers hold fancy papers, stamps, embossing powders, watercolor pencils, H2o colors, paints, washi tape and many misc. things.
From this angle are my inks, papers, cuttlebug and die cuts, folders, punches, glues, tape, scissors, boxes and containers of punched out designs oh, and a drawer full of "Valentine embellishments".
From this angle, are cards already made, cards waiting to be made, envelopes, stamps and many embellishments, Quilling, Iris folding, flowers, glitter, ribbon, scrap paper, plastic sleeves and Etsy tags and cards.
On the same wall and on the other side of the basement, is scrap booking stuff, books, idea books, folders, beads for jewelery making, Hospice inserts, wooden block and acrylic stamps. I do have another section of stamping stuff, in the other room are my Christmas, Easter, Valentine, St.Patrick stamps, more ribbons and magazines.
And here is my special friend, Kylie who sits in her chair keeping me company. So there you have it, a tour of my "cards4ubylouise studio". It's not like some of the other gorgeous stamping studios you may have seen....but it is my little studio. Maybe someday I will have an actual room, totally organized, with windows and sunlight beaming through, bright and airy!!!
Well, the President is giving his State of the Union Address.......ho hum....sounds like we are living in some kind of Utopian place, according to him. I sure don't see that, like what planet is he talking about? I will be interested to hear what Rush, Sean and Mark Levine have to say about Obama's speech. Oh yesssss. he just said "Give America a Raise" that would be nice....oh cool "MyRA" a savings for us poor people, so they can take more from us...hahahahah, sounds good????? I better go, before I get in trouble.
Have a great day tomorrow and keep looking up and keep warm in this cold, cold unpredictable weather. Cheers ~ Louise
JUST A NOTE: Incase you were wondering. We got our car back today, to the tune of $396.00, hopefully nothing eles happens and we can pay off what we owe by the end of this year.(like about $1000????)
