Some Stampin'up cards

Hi there everyone. I guess I have been MIA again. Just basically living life to the best of my ability. Let's see, my last post was March 15th....I think I made cauliflower soup....which is long gone, JP really liked it and thought it was great!!! Although he has said he likes two kinds of foods......hot and cold, I guess that covers everything. But, since the cauliflower soup, I have made Green Pea Soup made in the pressure cooker....omg....was that delicious! I will most certainly do that again. Did not take pictures....but next time I will.

So Sunday the 19th I went to the Stampin'up camp. It was a nice day and a change of pace and I learned a few new ideas. There is always refreshments, a door prize and a chance to use new Stampin'up supplies that I don't have at home. (most definitely the supplies are on my wish list). Like this stamp set below...the girl with the umbrella and a girl dancing, I forget the name of this set, but it is on my list to buy next time.
This next card is a very pretty sympathy card, the gold flower is a die cut, I think the papers used, help in making these cards very pretty. I like the softness in the colors.
Now this next card is very pretty, I was able to duplicate this one, as I have the dragonfly die cut (see the above blog header lots of dragonflies and bee's). I have made a bunch of these cards already...probably most of them will go to Hospice.
Another Sympathy card. One thing about Stampin'up....they make pretty papers. I bought a set of papers a couple of months ago and have yet to use it.....what's up with that!!!!
In this picture is the door prize I won....YAY!!!  Well, there were 3 of us ladies and 4 door prizes....so we all won something!!!
Not much went on this past week. Pretty soon it will be time to start working outside.....I hope this spring I have a little bit more motivation to work then I did last year. Lots of weeds grew in my gardens....hopefully I can keep ahead of those pests.

Well, time to close, JP will be home in about 45 minutes. So I better get my bike riding in for the day. Didn't get to take Kylie for her walk....raining tonight, we did not want to get wet.

Have a great day and keep looking up....better days are here again.
Cheers ~ Louise

April Came in Like a Lamb....I Guess

Hi there everyone. Well, it's the first day of April and April Fool's day.....nope, no one played a trick on me...and I did not play tricks either....guess I am not that much into trick playing. AND, April seemed to come in like a lamb....at least for today. Guess there is snow coming over the weekend, not much I don't think.
So, today's post is about the cards I have made recently. The rose card and cross card were both made at Betty's card class two weeks ago....see how slow I am in getting things posted??? I love that Rose card.....as I told Betty, I think I will send it to "myself" when my birthday comes around....lol!

The cross card, I thought came out really nice....amazing, I do have this stamp and probably will make a few more....maybe use it for a "sympathy card". I usually don't have sympathy cards on hand, so this would be a good one to have....or it could be an Easter card for next year. The color on the card is chalks and then a fixative spray was used to keep the chalks from smudging.
The following cards are my "vintage lady" cards.....aren't they gorgeous??? A few years ago Betty gave me these pictures that were printed on plastic.....I never used them. At my last class, Betty had some cards made up and I bought a few for samples. She borrowed me her die cut for the frames. Actually the one below is mine....I just bought it the other day at Hobby Lobby. It sure turned out beautiful, I think I will send this to me also....lol!!!
The purple vintage lady below.....gorgeous again....the die cut frame is Betty's. I have made about 10 extra frames so I can make a few more cards using this frame as I need to get this die cut back to her.
The blue vintage lady is another frame I picked up at Hobby Lobby....she turned out lovely too.
In the picture below are the "Steak Tacos and Mole Verde with Radishes and Avocado" from Blue Apron. I made these a few weeks ago....then made them again with flank steak.....goodness these were good. I love the Mole Verde sauce on the steak which was made with tomatillos, spice, chopped pepitas, cilantro and juice of a lime.....gosh, so deliciousness!!!!
My next 3 recipes came yesterday from Blue Apron and they are "Steak and Eggs with Quick Kimchi Fried Rice", "Chicken Fried Chicken with Baked Sweet Potato & Collard Greens" and "Dukkah-Spiced Cod with Warm Beet, Carrot & Arugula Salad"

I have decided to get these meals once a month, so whatever they are.....it will REALLY have to be superb in their presentation and ingredients!!! We'll see what happens. I still enjoy making these meals and learn so much from them, it's like going to culinary school once a month for $60.00...guess that is pretty cheap when I look at it that way.

Well, tomorrow is SATURDAY.....yay, how I love Saturday's!! It's  supposed to rain or snow, I think I will go downstairs and make some more cards....Hospice meeting is next Friday....so I need to get some cards put together for that. You may see another post with cards I made and probably one of the recipes from Blue Apron.

Time to close....it's getting late and I need to start thinking about JP coming home and what to make for his dinner. Probably leftover spaghetti and chicken, toast, fruit...maybe a salad too. I guess this is why I always have dishes in the sink, I can never quite catch up with dirty dishes.

So you all have a great weekend and keep looking up....better days are coming. Cheers ~ Louise

Ground Hog Day ~ Winter Storm ~ Cards

Hi there everyone! Hope you made it through the winter storm.....wonder if Mr. Ground Hog saw this one coming. Well, I heard he saw his shadow, so does that mean we have 6 more weeks of winter or does it mean an early Spring....I don't know, guess we will have to take what comes down the pipe...right???

So following are some cards I made at Betty's last week....yeah I know, a little late in showing these off. 2 Valentine cards, 1 Birthday and 1 Sympathy card.
I really like this sympathy card....very pretty and easy to put together.
We inked the stamp with a new ink pen...I like how vibrant the colors are and what is really exciting is that we did not have to "Huff and Puff" on the stamp in order for it to ink the card stock.
This Valentine card was easy too. Betty usually has all the pieces to make the card in an envelope....she did most of the work. We just had to glue it, stamp it and piece it together.
This Birthday card, Betty stamped the cabin and trees and we colored in the image with copic markers. then we speckled it. She already had the embossed tree and hole cut out. We inked it with distress ink. Banner was a die cut and we stamped the Birthday on it.....simple, simple.
This card was more intricate....Betty stamped the dog and little girl on the scalloped circle and we colored them in with copic markers. Layered the papers then added the heart which was already stamped.

Tonight I made a Banana/strawberry, Chocolate pudding and graham cracker dessert. Maybe in about an hour or so, we will have a piece. Also made some cookies for Kylie, Banana, peanut butter and powdered oat meal mixed together, cut in squares and baked. She loves them, wags her tail as we give them to her.

UPDATE: On the Banana/Strawberry Chocolate Pudding & Graham Cracker Dessert. IT WAS FABULOUS!!!  And yes, I am yelling it was SOOOOOO good. I found it on Facebook. I will look for the recipe and link it to my next post (if I remember).

JP started work at 3:00 today and was home early, about 9pm. So we had dinner together. (which only happens on the weekends). It's only 11pm, seems weird, my evening is mucked up. Not used to this.

Well, time to close here and go downstairs for some card making. Been playing with my Flamingo and pineapple stamps. You have a good evening and keep looking up....better days are coming.
Cheers~Louise
