It's About Time???

Hi there everyone...whom ever you may be. The title says, "It's about time???" What does that mean, you might say??? Well, I guess it means....it's about time I did a new post, the last one was in May and my street was being torn up, things are more calmer now. The hole was covered up and the City laid black top down where the sidewalk was. It will be torn up again next Spring!!!

I found out the cost for us this year.....are you sitting down??? We will have to come up with another $1,560.00 for this session...who knows how much it will be next year. I still have one more month to come up with $434.00 for taxes this year...geez, the City must think we have a money tree in our back yard.....I wish we did. Not exactly sure where we will come up with this extra $1,560.00 this year. We have been told we can either pay the whole amount in one lump sum, have the amount added to our taxes next year OR make 5 easy payments a month....that would be $315.00 a month along with all the other bills???  Paying this off will have to be a miracle from God!!!!

Well, enough of my tale of woes.....some how, some way, it will be taken care of.

In this post I am showing you some of the cards I made for Hospice. Here are my 4th of July cards...they were fun to make. I inked the embossing folder, put the card stock in the folder and ran it off in my cuttlebug. So the background is colored and the fireworks are still white. Added a few gems and penned in the stars in gold.
I really love this die cut....so pretty. I received the die cut from my "secret stamper" and turned it into this lovely card.....makes for a nice thank you card.
My secret stamper also sent me this 3D rose background. I loved it so much I had to have this folder for my own collection. I used the same technique as I did for the fireworks card....sure do like the effect it gives. So many different ways to use this folder.....stay tuned for more ideas.
Here again.....my new secret stamper sent me this background. I added the butterflies, gems and Thinking of you verse....another easy peasy card.
I picked up these gold tags at Hobby Lobby on their discount rack, I figured I could find some use for them....here's what I did, ran it through the 3D rose folder....and made this very simple card.
So there you have it, a few cards for Hospice. Our next meeting won't be until September 6th....so hopefully I will have a good 50-60 cards made by then. We get the summer off from Hospice. Will give me more time for playing in my gardens.

If this rain would stop, I could plant a few more seeds. I do have my tomato plants and zucchini plants planted along with radishes, lettuce, beans and cucumber. Planted some flower seeds too, zinnias, marigolds, inpatients and wild flowers for the butterflies. So, we shall see what grows and doesn't grow.

Time to close here....you all have a great June. This next week, Kylie has a grooming appointment...she always feels good after her shower and shave. Tuesday I go for my 2nd vitamin B-12 shot and Thursday I have an appointment for a mammogram....ouch, don't like those tests. Summer begins on the 21st....how fast this year is flying!!!

Have a great evening and keep looking up, better days are coming!!
Cheers - Louise

My Etsy Order and Christmas???

Hi there everyone....how you all doing? Well, it's SATURDAY!!!! Yay!!! JP will be home in 35 minutes....so I have a little bit of time to blog yet.

As you see below, the Flamingo cards are done. The lady did buy the cards from my Etsy store. So these cards are already packaged and ready to go into the mail on Monday. They turned out pretty good, I even made a book mark with a flamingo....see it laying on the cards??? I think I will make some more of these cards, as I gave one away today to a friend who is moving to Indiana....(sigh)....I shall miss her for sure.
Another picture of the cards from a different angle. Three Thank You cards and 3 Birthday cards.
As Christmas is only 100 days away......maybe, just maybe I should start thinking about making Christmas cards. I saw this one on Pinterest, it caught my eye and I thought this was a very pretty card. I can't believe....I do have the stamps to make this card from Stampin Up.
It is done on white card stock...the background trees are in blue and the tree in the foreground is embossed in gold....very easy peasy. I shall try it in the next few days.

So tomorrow I might go to a paper sale....not sure yet, depends on what time I get up and if JP is going to the church to clean....we shall see.

I had my mammogram on Wednesday....it went well. The last time I had one was 11 years ago....gosh I hated being squeezed. In those 11 years the machines have become digital and the compression is not so bad...yeah, I guess when it comes up again next year I will be more willing to go. As it is a screening....Medicare pays for it.

Well, this is a short post....guess I will close for now. Enjoy your weekend as it goes way to fast!!! Keep looking up cause better days are coming. Cheers ~ Louise

Well....wha'du-ya know??????

Hi there everyone.....well....wha'du-ya know???? Came home from church, went on the computer and WOW!!! I had a transaction from Etsy!!! Yay that made my day. It has been awhile since something last sold. Now I just have to wait to see if the transaction goes through and it was not a fluke. I tried emailing the lady and her email failed and did not go through. So I convoed her through Etsy....shall see if she answers. I can tell I am her first seller that she is dealing with. I hate the thought that this could be a scam or something. I just won't send the item till I know the transaction goes straight into my account. Guess I should be a little bit more trusting, but I am not.
Yep.....Monday is upon us again.....GRRRRRRR!!!!!! We have a Net Health nurse coming tomorrow, she is going to check out our meds, do blood pressure checks, blood sugar, check my feet and ask questions, listen to our hearts and what ever else. I guess she will want to know about the tests and operations I had this year too. Oh and talk me into a mammogram....next year thank you after I pay for these past medical bills. Least now, she can't tell me to have a colonoscopy, cause I had that one already.

Tuesday, I have to take my computer in for a check up, it's been over a year since this computer was checked out as it seems a little sluggish on some programs. But on other programs, she works fine. Also, I will have Windows 10 installed professionally. It seems I have to check with HP to see if the settings are okay to install 10....sounded too confusing to me, so I decided to take it in. I possibly will have the Office program installed for $150 and MAYBE the Adobe program too.....not sure as yet. So if you don't see me for a few days, that is why. We are getting an up-grade.
So, here is another funny dog "Monday Morning" picture.....aren't they funny???? Maybe this is what I will look like on Tuesday though. Who knows.
I saw this doggie picture a few months ago....thought he was a cutie....I love fries, I think that is my excuse too...exercise is just too hard, I would rather a few extra fries. I have lost some weight, 40 lbs since last year this time. I do feel better and would like to lose another 10 lbs. But since my Hernia operation, I have noticed a few lbs creeping back on the scale......oh-oh....I better say STOP LOUISE!!!!

But I enjoy my cooking way too, too much....last night I made a roast in the oven with baked potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Oh my, it was delicious. I had marinated the roast for about 30 minutes then sliced some mushrooms and sat the roast on the mushrooms, then covered the roast with tin foil and set the oven at 500 degrees and baked the roast for 10 minutes then turned the oven off and let the roast sit in the oven for 1 hour. After an hour I took it out and OH MY was that meat tender and still pink on the inside, delicious roast!!! Yes, that is the way I shall cook my beef roast from now on....perfecto!!!!

Next Sunday, after church I will be going to a Stampin'Up Camp....can hardly wait. I ordered a stamp set already and got 15% off on the set if I ordered it before the 23rd....so that was a good deal. The stamp set will help me make my Christmas Cards this year, which will be very simple.

Well time to close here.....I was going to make this a short post....but I guess it did not make it into the "short" category, did it??

Have a great week and keep looking up. Cheers ~ Louise
